a fabulous little sucker...,
By A Customer
This review is from: Euro-Pro EP031 Mini Turbo Shark 400-Watt Hand Vacuum (Kitchen)
I've been using the shark for at least nine months and it works like a dream. Having read the other reviews... anyone who tries to clean a house with a hand vac is nuts and anyone who tries to use the thing to suck up lots of anything (dirt, food, ants) will have to clean out the filter eventually so deal with it... granted the small plastic attachments are small and plastic, but that should really be exptected for the price and if you use them appropriately they'll last longer and make the task easier... the only real downside here is that it has a cord, which isn't really that big a deal and means that the vac is consistently powerful and you don't have to worry about a battery needing to be recharged.... I used to have a small dustbuster that was several times more expensive and couldn't compare to this... give it a whirl and experiment with the attachments, treat it nicely and it will reciprocate...

power cord limits portability,

Just be aware that this unit must be plugged into a wall socket, it is not cordless. You may need an extension cord to use it in your car for example. This is somewhat surprising because it limits the portability of this otherwise small unit.

Small but powerful,

Great price for a small vacuum that is also powerful. The loud noise gives it a powerful feeling. Very handy in my garage to vaccuum my car's carpets. Love it

Gave this one away,

I bought this for quick touch ups and when I didn't need to get out the big upright. Lousy suction!! It only is good right at the opening. You have to get right on top of the dirt and hair for it to be sucked up. It was supposed to have great suction and make quick work of messes. It would have been and now is easier to get out my regular vacuum.

strong lil vacuum,
By A Customer
This review is from: Euro-Pro EP031 Mini Turbo Shark 400-Watt Hand Vacuum (Kitchen)
Good strong suction. BUT...you must clean the filter out a lot. It is tiny and clogs up fast. It is great for small jobs. I love it. I have toddlers, and don't want to constantly get out the big vacuum, so this is very convenient. Remember to clean out that fitler though, because you lose suction quick otherwise. If you need more cleaning the bigger 800 watt deluxe would be better. It is much better than my old dust buster!!

Strong suction but not reliable,
By Hieu Tran (Irving, TX United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Euro-Pro EP031 Mini Turbo Shark 400-Watt Hand Vacuum (Kitchen)
This thing does have a strong suction but you have to be really close to dirt or area you want to suck. I used it mostly to clean my car. It does a a pretty good job at getting the cracks but gets really hot if you leave it on too long. Few weeks ago it died on me when I was cleaning my car. I guess it just got too hot and burned out. Total hour of use is around 5 hours. If you have one, I suggest you don't leave it on for long period of time. Maybe 15 min at a time and let it cool down. I dont' think I'm going to buy another one. I'm going to open it up and see if it's just a fuse I can replace.

Like other reviewers I only paid a dollar for this item so it is hard to complain. The vacuum lacks sufficient power and suction to do much - I had hoped to use it to lift cat hair from furniture and stairs but it doesn't have adequate suction. I will probably put it in next garage sale!

Don't buy this!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Euro-Pro EP031 Mini Turbo Shark 400-Watt Hand Vacuum (Kitchen)
We bought one of the shark mini vacs from Sears. We bought it when we first got back from our honeymoon and found that our apartment (in a brand new complex) had been invaded by ants. We wanted a light-weight handheld vacuum that could suck up the dead ant bodies. So, we purchased the shark. It was the biggest waste of money. It sucked up the little ant bodies... but by the third or fourth time we used it, it didn't work at all! We plugged it in, flipped the switch, and nothing! It was completely dead. Please don't waste your money on this item.

This was one of the biggest purchase disappointments I've ever made. The life span of this product in my home was only about 60 days so I returned it and got a new one hoping it would last longer. (I figured that it was an unique situation.) I figured wrong. The second one lasted only about 90 days and then died completely. I called the manufactuerer and they suggested I get a new battery for it. Unless you're interested in spending time and money on a product that is supposed to be a time and money saver, I suggest you, cautious shopper, shop for a different product.

Bigger would be better...,

I bought this thing for $5. For that price it is totally worth it. Gets really hot, so only good for short bursts of cleaning. Pretty powerful, but like some other reviewers mentioned, the opening of the mini-shark is really small, so it is difficult to clean some areas. I used it to clean my car and with the attachments it did a pretty good job. I like the removable filter and the on/off switch is simple and a good design. The cord does get in the way at times, but it is really long and I am glad that I do not have to recharge this hand-vac. Worth it if you can get it for $5. I did not give it higher marks mainly because of the small opening design.
