Built for bagless convenience, efficient floor coverage, and long-reach accessory cleaning, the 12-amp Shark Spectra upright is suitable for carpet, floors, upholstery, and above-floor jobs. The wide floor nozzle, with its 15-inch cleaning path, features a motorized brush roll and automatic height adjustment, so you can move between different carpet types without stopping. Dirt and debris collect in a bagless dust cup, which is transparent for easy monitoring and comes with a full-cup indicator light. When the cup is full, simply release it from the machine for emptying. A pleated HEPA filter inside the cup traps irritants and allergens as small as 0.3 microns. The filter can be tapped clean regularly and should be replaced once a year with average use. A washable motor filter assists the HEPA system.
The Spectra is especially well-equipped for above-floor cleaning with its automatic-conversion extra-long hose and attachments. All attachments--except the bonus blower tool--store tidily on board. They include two long extension tubes, a full-length crevice tool, a dusting brush, and an upholstery attachment. Though somewhat bulkier than many other bagless models, the Spectra is nevertheless fairly lightweight and maneuverable. It comes with an extra-wide headlight, a carrying handle, and quick-release power cord hooks. Euro-Pro includes a one-year warranty. I had only heard of the "Shark" brand name in relation to hand vacs, but when I saw this one at a store I was intrigued: neat look, low price, nice design features(unlike some bagless models, you don't have to tilt the dirt cup downward when you remove it; filter is on top of dirt cup, making it easy to access; you only have to hit the foot pedal once to allow the brush to pivot, unlike my old Hoover; auto carpet height adjust). Also the weight was good for me, although it might be a bit much for someone very petite or with a bad back.When I brought it home, I attached the handle(1 screw), and fired it up. Not only was it relatively quiet, but when I went back over a rug that had been cleaned the day before and got quite a lot more cat hair and general fuzz out of it; thanks to the super long cord, I was able to clean my entire first floor and stairs without moving the plug. This is my first bagless, and I don't regret the purchase!!

I know you have probably read the other reviews, and chances are, you won't get to this review. If you do make it here, take it from me-YOU DO NOT WANT THIS VACUUM! It's as simple as that. I stumbled upon this page, because I have exhausted my "on foot" search for the vacuum cleaner belts. It has been over a year-and I CAN NOT find the belts for this vacuum. Then, the thing smells like burnt rubber, all the time- works when it wants to,and yes CLOGS ALL THE TIME. I will not throw it away because the vacuum is almost brand new. I yelled at my husband because I thought he broke the vacuum after having it for a month-I didn't know everyone was having similar problems. Everything that everyone else described happened to us. I have been using an older vacuum of mine until I get "the belt" - now I know, I am getting a Hoover.

Vacuum worked well until the belt broke. After a few hours on the net, I finally found the shark website to order more. If you haven't read the other reviews for this model, you can't buy these belts in any stores.
