Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Combining the convenience of cordless and corded operation and 1,400-watt power, this iron is fully equipped for the 21st century. Users can lift the iron from its charging base with the 12-foot, pivoting power cord attached. Or they can use it with the cord left behind--plugged into the charging base, which hooks to the ironing board with a bracket. The iron has a polished stainless-steel soleplate for a smooth glide, a variable-steam control, and both an anticalcium filter and a self-cleaning feature that prolongs the iron's life. Operating features include vertical steam for removing wrinkles in curtains and hanging garments; misting spray; steam burst; and an antidrip system for when the thermostat is on low. The handle provides a slip-resistant grip. The iron carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

1.0 out of 5 stars not long lasting, August 5, 2002

This review is from: Euro-Pro IR436R Cord/Cordless Iron (Kitchen)
I bought this iron and am not very happy with it. It worked fine for a few months, and then nothing. I thought it might be the plug, but I tried everywich way to plug it in various outlets. No power. It was only 7 months old.
I also bought a euro pro sewing machine and it only lasted for 10 months. I will never buy euro pro products again, thank you.

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't last 3 months, July 19, 2003

This review is from: Euro-Pro IR436R Cord/Cordless Iron (Kitchen)
I bought this iron 3 months ago. I was fairly content even though the iron didn't stay hot long enough when in the cordless mode and the auto shutoff worked intermittently. 3 weeks ago the iron started to leak a little bit of water from the back. I assumed that I was using the steam burst when the iron wasn't hot enough. Now the iron leaks to the point that I can't use the iron with water in it which means that I can't use the spray or the bust of steam.

The concept of a cordless iron is great it just didn't work well with this product.

3.0 out of 5 stars So far so good..., June 25, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Euro-Pro IR436R Cord/Cordless Iron (Kitchen)
... I have only owned the iron for 2 months, so I haven't had the problem the other reviewers had... yet. So far, the iron works well. Nice and solid, not too heavy, but substantial enought to give a nice crease to anything. It's a little clunky when you're trying to put it back into its warming base, if you are using it as a cordless iron. If you don't care about the cordless aspect of this iron, however (which was the reason I bought it), look elsewhere. It's a little less streamlined than other irons, when you use it as a corded iron. However, if all you do is a little light ironing and you want the ease of a cordless iron, then you'll be pretty happy with this one.
