Rarely do I award five stars ..., September 5, 2009
This review is from: Euro-Pro SV769 Shark 16-4/5-Volt Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner (Kitchen)
Having had at least three previous hand-hald vacuums (from Dust Busters to corded units), this one is the best. In fact, my wife just bought a second one so that we have one on each living floor of the house. Once I get my basement workshop in shape, I'll probably get a third one.
This unit is convenient, very powerful, and well-designed. It comes with a beater-bar rug attachment and a velocity-enhancing crevice tool. Both work well. It is well-balanced in the hand. It recharges quickly. It can be easily emptied and cleaned for the next using. The last time I used it, it was to clean up the remnants of a broken small pyrex bowl that didn't survive a four-foot fall onto a tile floor. Ooops. But the Shark gobbled it all up in one pass. By the way, we also own two of the floor model Sharks and are equally happy with that product as well.
One reviewer dissed the unit because it ran down after fifteen minutes of use, dubbing it a "lemon." That's possible. But frankly, having owned now five of them (two Sharks), I can't imagine running one for fifteen consecutive minutes without putting it back on the charger. Such a comment suggests that one is using it to clean the entire home or apartment and possibly expecting more than a hand-held may be prepared to give. Or maybe it IS a lemon.
I would think that to use a hand-held comfortably for fifteen consecutive minutes, one must be no more than two feet tall and VERY strong for one's size.

Great Design - Also Available at BBB, April 26, 2009
This is one of the few designs that has a motorized rotating brush, making it great for fabric (esp with animals). Strong motor and has a solid feel, which also makes it a bit heavier than other hand vacs. Just note that I saw this model (VX33) at Bed Bath and Beyond in West Los Angeles on 4/25/09 for $59.99, less their 20% coupon brings it to $48 then add the new and improved sales tax in LA county of 9.25% brings the bottom line to $52.43 or just over 13 dollars less than UnbeatableSale is selling it for.

Love it!, September 14, 2009
This review is from: Euro-Pro SV769 Shark 16-4/5-Volt Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner (Kitchen)
I have not owned a hand-held vac for years, but had to get one after I got a yellow lab. I love this Vacuum! it has a lot of power and the brush attachment works beautifully. I have to empty the filter after almost every use because of the dog hair, but it will effortlessly clean my area rugs and keep the house looking better without me having to haul out the big vacuum every day.
