Bought this iron at Target a couple of days ago and plan on returning it. The first time I used it, it kept shutting off even when it was left unattended only a few minutes, not 7. The second time I used it, it would not heat up enough to be able to produce steam. I doubt I will try another of this brand. Previously I had a T-Fal iron that worked well for about 10 years.

I purchased this iron today and ironed six dress shirts in record time. It might be wise to read my review and disregard the others.....I don't think they had a full grasp about how the iron functions.#1. The iron does have an automatic shut-off mechanism. If left unattended for 7 minutes it will turn off to avoid a fire hazard. DO NOT confuse this, as "Laura" in a prior review did, with the thermostat light. This will flucuate off and on to maintain the desired temperature. (Similar to your home furnace.) #2."Laura" complained that her iron left calcium fragments on her clothes. If the INSTRUCTIONS had been read, she would see that when hard water deposits form within the iron, it is equipped with a self-cleaning mechanism that should be utilized after every 10 uses to avoid such a mishap. (I plan to clean mine monthly.) #3. The iron has a varible control on the steam function. If the iron is "spitting or spraying" too much steam after the section of the article is ironed. TURN IT DOWN! There are three levels to choose from. #4. The ONLY thing I would caution anyone about it the 360 degree cord attachment. SOMETIMES...if not properly set down, this will cause the iron to not be level, and it can tip. So, overall, I throughly enjoy this iron's performance. The shirts I ironed were crisp. No need for a spray bottle, as more than enough steam is emitted to tackle ANY wrinkle. As Martha Stewart would say, "IT'S A GOOD THING!" Grade A +

EuroPro Shark G1475,

I purchased this item from Target and was sold by the Auto Shut Off feature as well as the Anti-Calc and Anti-Drip statements on the box.Every time I have used the iron it SHUTS OFF while I am ironing; yes, while the iron is in motion! Then, as it is cooling down, it spews water from the sole plate all over the article I am ironing. It's a real mess. Even though I am diligent about emptying all the water when I am finished ironing, calcium deposits do form and white residue sprays out with the steam, which shows up on dark fabric I am ironing. All in all, I am very disatisfied with this product.

Auto Shut Off does not work,
This review is from: Euro-Pro Shark GI475 Professional Series Iron with Headlight (Kitchen)
The iron automatically shut off four times while I was ironing one shirt. The instructions say that the iron shuts off after seven minutes but it's more like every thirty seconds (very annoying!). The iron does not produce much steam. Also, the headlight is very difficult to turn off an off and on.

frustrating,
This review is from: Euro-Pro Shark GI475 Professional Series Iron with Headlight (Kitchen)
This iron is very frustrating. It's unclear how many of the gadgets on it work. It shuts of automatically when you don't want it too, the headlight I still haven't figured out, and the temperature settings dial is confusing as well. I just purchased this iron and will be returning it. My cheap black and decker iron is going to have to come back out of the closet.
