I despise this vacuum!!,

This review is from: Euro-Pro Shark UV209 Pursuit Bagless Upright Vacuum (Kitchen)
My biggest problem with this vacuum is that there is only one tiny little hole for all the dirt to be sucked up in...it's on only one side of the vacuum (very deceiving!) and it constantly gets clogged and it's not easy to get to so you can clean it out. It shuts down all the time....It's just an overall mess and their customer service will cost you more money than a new vacuum...total waste of money.
My cheap "backup" vac, which is a little $20 Boss has more amp and better suction that this piece of crap. I wind up using it on more areas that I do the shark, which is more like a sick goldfish.

Poorly designed Junk,

According to the instructions "To release the handle, step on the power head and pull back" This has always been the most difficult part of using this vacume. There is no release mechanism like most vacumes have. I always had to pull it back with with brute force. Well finally after 15 months of only light use it broke. It broke big time. Of course its no longer under warranty. I'm upset that I wasted my money on this vacume and now it will go to a landfill for eternity. I would have given this item no stars if it was an option. JUNK!!!!!

Gets the Dog Hair!,

I bought this vacuum today--came with a free handheld. The handheld is tiny compared to others out there and just as (if not more) powerful. The upright: I did the kitchen floor and the bedroom (carpet). Initially I said it's a vacuum; it did what it should but I have a dog and much of fur had accumulated under the bed (clumped around the footposts); last week I had used my old vacuum (which went kaput when a dog toy got stuck in but that's a different story) and it could not make a dent in the accumulated dog fur. The shark picked it up like it was nothing. So as of now, I'm impressed. It's also very light and easy to maneuver and the headlight is brighter than others I've used.

Worst Vacuum in History,
By
This review is from: Euro-Pro Shark UV209 Pursuit Bagless Upright Vacuum (Kitchen)
This vacuum deserves 0 stars. My wife and I decided to literally toss our brand new Shark in the dumpster after the 3rd time using it. It didn't pick up anything, was hard to clean, left dust everywhere... In fact, I'm pretty sure it left our apartment messier AFTER we used it.

Complete garbage,

I don't even own this vacuum, luckly. However, I borrowed it from my friend since our own vacuum is beyond help. Obviously, this vacuum doesn't put us in a much better situation. It's complete garbage though, it will last about 3-5 minutes with a mid-way (by the "full" line) filled canister, and about 5-10 with it completely empty. I've owned a kenmore that's still kicking strong after 15 years, and this Shark vacuum still has the tags and stickers on it. Going to recommend my friend to return it while she can. Trolls need not bother saying "WELL CLEAN THE FILTER MORE LOLZ!", because while that effects how long it's short time span is, it never lasts longer than 10 minutes. It's just a horrible vacuum.
Never going to buy from this brand again, and will make sure to pass it on to friends, and obviously you folks.

Lots of work to clean!,

Seems to pick up dog hair well, but HEPA filter clogs with dust so quickly I have to clean it after vacuuming each room. Each time there are several parts to remove, disasemble, and clean (usually by wacking them against the fence), and even though I'm doing this outdoors there is no way to avoid the clouds of dust that fly out. If you don't clean it frquently it overheats. The little hand held "Baby Shark" that came with it is pretty useful, but otherwise this thing's a pain. I'm going to bite the bullet and spend four times as much on a Dyson, hoping I don't have to clean the filter so often.

Endless supply of belts required if you have pet hair!,
By Agnieszka (Cleveland, Ohio) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Euro-Pro Shark UV209 Pursuit Bagless Upright Vacuum (Kitchen)
I have two cats and a big hairy dog, so you can imagine the pet hair! Not very good on hardwood floor, but unlike the ones I had before, this upright does a great job picking up pet hair off the carpet. Bad news is I've gone through both belts in about 6 vacuumings! Only one 12'x12' room in my house is carpeted, too! Now I'm stuck with yet another upright that will end up on my front lawn on a garbage day, unless of course I find a new belt. So far I've tried with no success.
Also, if you don't like noise or burning smell, I would not recommend this vacuum.

I bought this Shark Pursuit vacuum after having bought a( Sharp Vacuum 5980 and had it for 37 days and it no longer works.) Do not by sharp they do not make vacuums any more. No carpet height setting and it eats belts/!!!!
The SHARK is the ultimate. I can buy 5 of these for what one Dyson costs. By the way Mr Dyson is one of the creators for the eailier models of Fantom / Euro-Pro Shark. I have lots of Cats and Shark Pursuit is wonderful. I have polyester plush carpet, and I have to use the carpet height setting on the medium to the highest setting and it works wonderful. If it is on the lowest setting I can smell the belt burning because it is dragging. As for getting hot I have not had this problem, however, it is not like your old bag vacuum you have to watch the amount of hair and debris it collects and may have to empty it half way through your vacuuming of the house, depending on the amount of hair and pets you have and how often you can vacuum. Once a week is not enough for me. I vacuum about every 3 days. For replacement belts and a new Tap clean filter try sharkvac.com or sharkcompany.com they have replacement belts 4 and 4 bulbs, 15.95 and the tap clean also at 15.95. My vacuum came with a ordering form for the above items. This is the best vacuum for picking up long hair from cats and the ultra fine dirt I live on which is like gray cornstarch. It is important to clean the filter when you see dirt collecting on the screen to continue the great suction. Try this one Bed Bath and Beyond. will let you return it if you do not like it. But YOU won't want to return it.

This vac really sucks,
By A Customer
This review is from: Euro-Pro Shark UV209 Pursuit Bagless Upright Vacuum (Kitchen)
This is the worst vac I have ever owned. I have had the Shark for 2 week it just stops working every 5-10 minutes and then you have to wait for 1 hour to start again. The suction is not what's advertised I have to vacuum the same area 2-3 time before it clean. I switched from a Hoover cyclone bagless...I have learned my lesson and am buying another Hoover.

I've had this unit less than 4 months and used it maybe 10 times. It overheats quickly, after which you have to wait a long time for it to start again and then it'll only work for a few minutes.
Yesterday, the unit stopped working completely and they want me to pay for shipping (they waived return shipping after much complaining) but expect 6 weeks for it to be fixed. In addition to the shipping time of a couple of weeks, at least, this means going without a vacuum cleaner for 2 months. In other words, the warranty is as good as useless. I'll be sure to avoid Euro-Pro products from now on. |
