4.0 out of 5 stars Generic upholstery nozzle fits!
This vacuum comes with 2 extension wands, dust brush, and crevice nozzle. All the attachments (upholstery nozzle, floor brush, crevice tool, wand) from my old vacuum fit this Shark! No need to order attachments such as the upholstery nozzle. I can vacuum under my bed with this vacuum. The electric cord is slightly shorter than on my old vacuum. This Shark vacuum comes...

I bought this vaccuum about 4 months ago. After 2 months the motor started to make a horrific noise, so i called the shark people. The 1800 # was constantly busy for days so i actually had to call them directly in canada and was on hold forever. Finally got thru and explained problem. lady was rude and told me was the belt which i knew it was not considering i had already inspecked the dang thing myself. She ended up hanging up on me because she did not want to hear my explanation. So she sent me belts hat arrived 1 month later. What do you know, it wasnt the belts.took it to vaccuum shop and told me was roller brush.so i called long distance again and they told me they would send me a roller brush which its been 3 weeks now. Dont even want roller brush anymore, got new vaccuum since shark didnt want to refund money. Just glad that i dont have to deal with that company anymore. As for my shark, i have junked it and will never buy one again. The darn thing didnt even work but for 2 months.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst Vacuum Ever? Well, maybe not...., November 16, 2005

Clogs too easy - must disassemble. Melts through belts on average of two uses. You'll spend about 20 minutes of down time to bring the thing back in order. I'm considering putting a small amount heat resistant electrical tape around the driveshaft where the belt comes in contact. Hopefully that may slow down the need to change belts. ---UPDATE--- The electrical tape trick actually works, and seems to run much better, So I've upgraded the performance to 3 STARS.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money, October 23, 2004
This review is from: Euro-Pro Shark UV204SH Spectra Widepath Upright Vacuum (Kitchen)
I am on a budget and needed a new vacuum I usually go with Eureka but there werent any in my price range. As soon as I finished the first run the belt broke. at that point I should have taken it right back to the store (my mistake)in one months time I have broken 3 belts more than I ever broke with my last vacuum that lasted 3 years. The instruction booklet does not tell you that there are 5 screws that need to be removed it only says four. I have complained to Shark customer service and they insist that the vacuum is faulty and I should of course at my expense mail them the vacuum and when it fixed they will send it back to me which could take anywhere from 4-6 weeks I AM NEVER BUYING SHARK ANYTHING EVER AGAIN if i could have given this vacuum a zero that would still have been to much

1.0 out of 5 stars Too much trouble to deal with it, February 20, 2004

I came to Amazon because i have 2 broken Shark vaccum's not the widepath but the thinner ones and they both have broken beater(roller) brushes on them. Against any BETTER judgement, my husband said he wanted another one, and bought the widepath. We took it home and it worked for vaccumming the whole house and then just stopped running. I changed plugs and moved in around the house and nothing happened. I took it back and what a surprise the store we bought it at only had the floor model left and didn't have plans on ordering anymore. Sounds to me like this may be discontined. On another swift note for Shark, i bought the hand held steam cleaner and when you let go of the handle the steam keeps coming out. NO MORE Shark products for this girl or my household. They sure do advertise well but need to hire more experienced people to assemble thier products!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars UV204 - Don't buy, February 28, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Euro-Pro Shark UV204SH Spectra Widepath Upright Vacuum (Kitchen)
I purchased a Euro-Pro Shark Spectra (UV-204) about 1 year ago. In this time, I have had to change the belt that drives the agitator about 8 times. I do NOT vacuum excessively (once / 2 weeks at most); I also have hardwood floors!

The drive belt is always in very good condition when I replace it, except it appears to have been worn in 1 or 2 spots, causing it to break. It is almost as if the drive spindle melts the belt somehow.

I am EXTREMELY unsatisfied with this purchase. My idea of a good vacuum is NOT one where I have to replace a part every third use. Also, it is very difficult to take the cover off and replace the belts - the cord holder is in the way and hard to remove, and due to the "stylish" design, you have to bend the plastic cover around the bag area.

4.0 out of 5 stars Generic upholstery nozzle fits!, January 29, 2003

This vacuum comes with 2 extension wands, dust brush, and crevice nozzle. All the attachments (upholstery nozzle, floor brush, crevice tool, wand) from my old vacuum fit this Shark! No need to order attachments such as the upholstery nozzle. I can vacuum under my bed with this vacuum. The electric cord is slightly shorter than on my old vacuum. This Shark vacuum comes with a reusable cloth bag installed, 3 paper bags and extra belts. However, there is no bare floor setting and the beater brushes keep turning when you use the attachments. You have to be careful and set the height to the highest setting when you use the attachments or you might mess up your carpet. I would never set this vacuum on a shag or deep pile rug and use the attachments. All in all, this is a decent vacuum for the price. Time will tell regarding quality and sturdiness.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't like it, May 26, 2003

This vacuum isn't very good when it comes to vacuuming up hair. Because the vent is in the front of the vacuum all it does is blow the hair around which makes it impossible to vaccum up the hair. I would "never" recommend this vaccum to anyone.

After spending the time to search for an affordable vacuum, imagine my disappointment on reading all these negative reviews. To their contrary I found the UV204 to be a wonderful purchase: longer cord, longer attachment hose, more suction, and quieter than my old vacuum, though not quiet. The inexpensive paper bags and hepa filter must do their job because my eyes didn't itch and my throat wasn't scratchy after doing the whole house. Dog hair disappeared in one swipe & the bag was nearly full of stuff the old vacuum was leaving behind. No belt problem, no overheating, no front exhaust dispersing the dander ahead.

I won't waste my time or yours re-writing what a poor product this is. Buy $60 worth of lint rollers and you'll save yourself countless headaches, have better results, and you'll be saving electicity.

4.0 out of 5 stars I agree with M Johns..., March 21, 2006
This review is from: Euro-Pro Shark UV204SH Spectra Widepath Upright Vacuum (Kitchen)
...this is a fine vacuum and a great value. I purchased this for $80 and have had it over a year. I have never experienced any of the problems described below and the suction has performed to my satisfaction. It's a shame that the people most motivated to write reviews are those with negative comments.
