Talk Now! - Very useful product.,
This is a great product. It's interactive with fun games and over 270 words you can put on your ipod so you can study anywhere. It teaches you a lot of words related to food, colors, shopping, traveling, emergencies, and other basic things.
As to the other review that the words are just 'English spoken with an Indian accent,' its true that some of the words are like that but its words for objects like 'credit card' and 'telephone' that didn't always exist in the language. My only complaint is that the complete sentences they teach you aren't broken down in to their different parts so that you can construct new ones easily on your own, but rather you just memorize how that sentence sounds. Obviously knowing someone who actually speaks the language would be a big help in learning, but if you don't have one this is probably the next best thing. I also bought a book to try to learn from and this is so much more helpful.

Ridiculously Bad,
By are just english words with a heavy Indian accent. How do you say 'hello' in Tamil? According to Eurotalk: You simply say "hello" like Apu and you have mastered Tamil! A total waste of time and money

This review is from: EuroTalk Interactive - Talk Now! Learn Tamil (CD-ROM)
it is not really colloquial tamil.. my friend who is a tamilian told me that people rarely use most of the words in there.. also, the other words (which are supposedly colloquial) are english words spoken with a heavy indian accent... i wouldnt recommend this to people trying to quickly learn basic tamil...
