The instructions for putting the crib together were easy to understand and my husband and I put the crib together in less than an hour.

I am very impressed with crib, and we saved a bunch of money by not having to get a higher priced crib.

I am impressed by the quality of the Europa Baby Geneva especially for the price of the crib. The build and materials seem solid, and the finish is well done (can be a problem with dark colored lower end cribs). I paid about 42% less than the price on Amazon at another retail store, but at this point they are mostly out of stock. The crib is easy to put together by any measure -- there are hex keys tools that can help to make it even easier. We are first time parents and are ready to have the baby in his own crib after five months. We are glad we did not spend more for bells and whistles that don't really matter. We looked at the CR recommended *Ikea* crib, but we realized that it would be of more limited use compared to a full size crib that converts easily to a toddler bed. Hope this helps.

I am so pleased with this crib! Assembly was pretty routine, and it feels VERY sturdy and looks fantastic. You'd never know this was bought so much more cheaply than most cribs. Every time I go to baby stores and compare the look of my crib to what's out there are 2-5x the price, I'm so satisfied. Finish seems to hold up pretty well, too; I dinged it a tiny bit with the edge of a large glass frame, but you can't expect wood furniture to take glass corners without any effect. We haven't had the baby yet but I can't anticipate any issues given how solid the piece feels.

One piece of advice: build it IN the nursery! We couldn't get it through the door from the garage to the house, which made us really nervous, but luckily after getting it in the front door we managed to squeeze it through the nursery bedroom door. So save yourself the stress and start in the room it's going to stay in.

To start, we had been looking at Babi Italia cribs at Babies R Us. This crib is made by the same manufacturer (La Jobi) but at a fraction of the price. (We ended up getting the Crib, Changing Table and a mattress (which I don't think we'll use) from [...] for $185.00. It was $10.00 to ship to our house and we got it in less than a week.

I had read reviews saying that there was a scratch here or there or it was hard to put together but I didn't experience this at all! The only recommendation I would give for ease of installation would be to get a screwdriver that you can change the bit on and pick up an allen head bit (maybe 5 dollars) to help with putting in all of the screws. I happened to have one already.

All together, my wife and I spent a total of about 45 minutes putting together both the crib and changing table.

From a quality standpoint, it feels every bit as solid as the Babi Italia cribs or other expensive models and much more sturdy than the Graco Sarah and Lauren cribs that were in the same price range (The Europa Baby crib by itself is $115.00 on [...].) I'm really not a big fan of WalMart and took kind of a chance on this without seeing it first but I'm glad we did.

The finish we chose is espresso which looks great and matches a dark wood dresser we already had. It is very dark and has just a slight tint of red with it. We are still a couple of months away from baby but will update with any issues or comments once we have had some use out of it. Meanwhile it looks great!

Just like all the reviews I agree I was very pleased in the beginning. However be warned if you bought this crib in hopes to convert it into a "full" size bed its not going to happen!
I bought the rails ($135)for the conversion and a full size mattress and box spring. The conversion went well and was easy until I went to set the box spring down into the frame and realized it was way to big.
After some online research I found the standard size for a "full" box spring was 54" wide. My box spring was only 52.25" the manufacturer of the crib Lajobi made the bed only 51" wide!!! So you will not find a full mattress to fit and a twin mattress will be way to small leaving a space all around the frame!
So now the company is not returning my emails or calls, go figure. I looked them up with the Better Business Bureau and they have a "F" rating!!!! I figure most people bought this crib in 2010 so everyone should be figuring this out real soon as their kids will be getting to the age for a full bed soon. Good luck.

I bought this crib elsewhere but I usually check amazon for reviews. When we opened the box there was a strong smell (that seemed to us related to the paint). We noticed some pieces appeared to have more smell than others. We let the pieces air out for a month and the problem seemed to decrease so we took all the pieces up to the baby's room and left them there overnight with the door closed. The next morning the room clearly smelled badly again. We returned it and got a crib by a different manufacturer.

This is the second crib we have purchased, the first being a Pali crib which has since been converted to a full size bed. Overall, the Europa Baby crib is pretty good for the price -- definitely less solid than the Pali crib, but also 2 - 3x less expensive and less heavy (thus easier to move around). Despite being less solid than the other crib, I think it's still pretty sturdy and should hold up pretty well with years of use. There was a very small dent on the top bar of the crib, which is a little annoying to me, but really not that noticeable. It was overall packaged quite well. Upon opening, there was a chemical/fumey smell to it, though it quickly aired out. Putting it together was straightforward -- I did it myself in my 7th month of pregnancy in about an hour.
