5.0 out of 5 stars The Girls Loved It, January 8, 2007

We just got back from a holiday trip to England and my girls (12 & 15) carried their Journals everywhere. I can't tell you how many times one of them piped up with some neat insight into British culture. And, as we toured the sites, the Journal actually helped us choose what to visit and gave them their own perspective, for example, touring London while collecting points for the Scavenger Hunt. They competed to accumulate references to the three great queens of England and, as a by product, learned a bit about those powerful women. I was just flipping through one of their journals and see by their notes that the journal enhanced their enjoyment of the trip and will be a keepsake for them. One more thing, my older daughter found several topics that she may elaborate for school reports.

Before taking our two grandchildren (ages 6 1/2 and almost 10) to England for a month, we searched for guide books that would be geared for them. We found the "Kids Europe Great Britain Discovery Journal" to be full of interesting facts and information. We read through the journal with both children before leaving on our trip. They both had fun making notes whenever we visited someplace or saw something that was mentioned in the journal such as a type of building or a foreign license plate. We did feel that the journal was better suited for older children and might suggest doing a second journal geared more for the younger aged children, ages 5-8 maybe. All in all, it was definitely a benefit for them on their trip to England and we would recommend the journal to any parent or grandparent taking kids to Europe.

I ordered this journal for my twelve years old grandson.
We are planning a visit to England and Scotland on March.
The topics seem quite enjoyable and fun ,the reason it was not given a five-stars it is the lack of color . I undestand it cuts the cost and colors will be added by him .I'm happy with my buying.
