Europe by Van & Motorhome,
This review is from: Europe by Van and Motorhome (Paperback)
I am planning a 6 month road trip round Europe with my partner next year. And this book was an absolute god send in answering all the niggly practical issues of being on the road. Written by an American couple it is full of wonderful insights and anecdotes from their indepth experience of travelling round Europe. It covers everything from where to buy/rent a vehicle here, fave camping/free camping spots, cooking menus & equipment checklist...& even how to avoid arguments with your partner when living in such confined space! Strange that I couldn't find any similar books written by Europeans...but I suppose Americans really do know their stuff when it comes to this subject.

This is the best book that I have ever read on how to RV in Europe. I have taken my family twice in the past 3 years and this book told all I needed to know.

This little book is packed full of facts for the person thinking of renting a camper or motor home in Europe and touring in it for an extended period. The authors' willingness to "name names" and send their readers to vendors they've found to be reliable is worth the price of the book. Information about what to expect of your European neighbors and how to behave so they'll like you is good. How to shop for food and other tips are useful for those who have not "lived off the land" in Europe before. I would like to see this book updated -- this version is from 2007. More web site addresses and blogs would be useful as it omits cost figures (wisely, given its shelf life). I still have many unanswered questions, therefore I rate it 4 stars, not 5, but what's here is useful, practical, and well presented.

Even though this book was published many years ago, much of the information is still relevant for anyone traveling in Europe and using a camper or motorhome.

This is a great overall guide to camping in Europe. It doesn't get into great detail or give tours, but covers the essentials very well. It also makes recommendations for other reference material, i.e. guides, phrase books and maps.

I was hoping for a book on travel, places to camp, campgrounds and things to see. This is a book about how to use a camper, which we know. I need information on Scandinavia and this book, like so many, cover almost everything but that area. There are better books out there.
