More About the Author

Allan Todd was educated at Bungay Grammar School in Suffolk, and then read History at the University of Wales, Bangor. After doing research at Lancaster University, he was a History teacher in Norfolk for 20 years. He was an Assistant Principal Examiner for Modern World GCSE History for many years, and has been a senior examiner/ team leader/ consultant for both A Level and IB History for many years. He has written a number of textbooks and revison guides for both A Level and GCSE History (including the BBC Bitsize History books), and is currently author and series editor for Cambridge University Press's new range of History books for Papers 1, 2 and 3 of the IB Diploma. Since 1998, he has been living in the Lake District in Cumbria.
