Product Description

European Metal Detecting Guide is a handbook for hobby metal detectorists in Europe who search for ancient coins, jewelry, relics and precious metals. Dozens of European detectorists shared their success stories and photos of their favorite finds in this book. Everyone from the beginning metal detectorist to the seasoned veteran will appreciate reading some of the tips and techniques shared by others. This guide is liberally sprinkled with full-color photographs of Roman and Celtic artifacts, as well as coins that date back thousands of years in age. Special focus is given to coin hunting, cache hunting, sand and surf detecting, relic hunting and prospecting.

About the Author

Stephen L. Moore has combined his love of history with the hobby of metal detecting in recent years. His recent title Last Stand of the Texas Cherokees relates how the author successfully led a metal detector team in discovering important battle relics from a 19th century conflict. Moore is the author of ten other books on World War II, Texas history and metal detecting.

5.0 out of 5 stars European Metal Detecting Guide, April 30, 2010

This review is from: European Metal Detecting Guide: Techniques, Tips and Treasures (Paperback)
This is a very good book for anyone interested in Metal Detecting.
It has interesting information on techniques, tips and lots of photos of european treasures, people have found. It does lean towards the use of the Garrett detectors which is ok with me because I have had one ( Grand Master Hunter CX II ) for 20 years. Also, it is a well made book as all
the 295 pages are glossy, which show a lot of details when it comes to viewing the many photos it contains.
