5.0 out of 5 stars Just great stuff, original, rowdy, wierd, edgy, fun, pounding
I usually seem to get attracted to music first, then seem to try to get into the lyrics. I'm kind of sick of the 20 something suffering lyrics about love, loneliness, government oppression, all sorts of youthly, naive, and idealistic themes.

With Zeromancer, I seem to get into the whole song, the words and music are one thing. The WHOLE song, music...

versus
3.0 out of 5 stars not bad but sounds like orgy
i was originally drawn in by eurotrash. I thought it was good, poppy, and edgy.. but in the end, the entire album sounds like a clone of orgy.. who honestly do what zeromancer does but better.

The WHOLE song, music structure, technical playing, voices, lyrics, everything just works. Their lyrics are somewhat offbeat, and therefore, pretty appealing to me at least. They are bordering on dark subjects, but presented with a cynical yet humorous twist. Doctor Online and Eurotrash are perfect examples of this approach to writing lyrics.

I can listen to this record over and over when I'm in the mood. They remind me of some of the great 80s romance bands, depeche mode edgy and dark, but with a more pounding rythmic base to all the songs.

Great stuff for the open minded music lover.

4.0 out of 5 stars Zeromancer stand apart., September 3, 2002

... Zeromancer is very pop sounding and a very fun record to listen to. It has the dark overtones, but is done the right way, ... . Zeromancer may use a lot of synth, but they do not OVERUSE it like so many others do. The music has a nice ammount of guitar with catchy riffs. This sounds like a rock album with synth, as oppossed to a synth album with a couple rock elements. Zeromancer's main trap is their chourses, all very repetitive and catchy. The vocals are delivered wonderfully, with occasional effects, but not constant vocal distortion, yet another synth-pop cliche. The lyrics are a bit weak at times, but as said before they are a "fun" band. The best tracks are Dr. Online, Germany, Neo Geisha, and Need You Like A Drug. ... In conclusion, do not judge this band because of the stereotypes(or what bad cliche record label they are on..), or you might overlook what could be your new favorite record.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best CD by Zeromancer., December 25, 2004
This review is from: Eurotrash (Audio CD)
This is in my opinion the best CD by Zeromancer (who I came across from a friend, when I first listened to the song Doctor Online I was almost moved to tears, not to sounds like a pansy or an emo kid, but they are just that good), I myself listen to metal/heavy metal/industrial, this CD is heavier then they're other cd I have Clone Your Lover (I have yet to really listen to or purchase there newest album ZZYZX), if you like NIN and Razed in Black, or Skinny Puppy(which is in a bit of a different Genre), I would recommend this purchase, great cd.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, November 14, 2003

I stumbled upon Zeromancer by complete accident, so I decided why not give it a try so I ordered it, not expecting a whole lot. This band stunned me. The opening track "Dr. Online" was a great way to open this cd. Most of the cd is extrememly good, I love the techno-rock sound they produce. It's nothing like I have ever heard before, I know Orgy has a similar sound but it doesn't flow like these guys do. I would definetley reccomend buying this release, you won't be dissapointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars We Take Plasic and We Take Cash, December 21, 2002

A friend of mine fisrt introduced me to Zeromancer with songs like Clone Your Lover and other songs that have yet to be released in America. I rediscovered Zeromancer on Hot Topic's "Gravers Paradice". I like Eurotrash but I think they could have done more with the Lyrics, they seem to do alot of repeating. The music is amazing and if you liked Dr. Online you won't be upset with the same beauty you get from "Need You Like a Drug" or "Eurotrash"

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect mix of industrial, metal, and techno, August 5, 2002

This album is nothing but amazing. Unfortunately it's almost impossible to get in the US, until now. August 13, 2002 this absolutely amazing album is coming out here, in the states. Every track on this CD is great. The vocals, lyrics, programming, guitars, everything is top notch. The songs are intelligent and catchy. They mix together the guitars and vocals of a metal band, the programming of techno, and the look and feel of gothic industrial. Nothing could be more perfect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tried it and LOVED it!, July 10, 2005

I saw them on Media Club and thought, what the hell, why not download them and check them out. From the first song, "Send Me An Angel", I was hooked. I really like Doctor Online too. Their genres are: Alternative Pop/Rock; Electro-Industrial; Industrial Dance (EBM); Synth Pop. This is such an awesome CD, as with all their CDs. Highly recommended for those who also enjoyed The Deftones.

5.0 out of 5 stars EBM...what a wonderful invention!, June 6, 2005
This review is from: Eurotrash (Audio CD)
Zeromancer is a EBM band. For those of you who don't know what that is...EBM is the kind of music they play at clubs, manly goth clubs. This band is a lot like Apoptygma Berzerk and has a similar style to Assemblage 23. They come close to Orgy, but Zeromancer is not for everyone. They have a techno, electronic, industrial sound. One of the best songs on this cd is "Send me an Angel". It's a slower song, but it has great lyrics and great beats. I love every song on this album and I think it's a great buy for anyone who is looking for something new and different to escape our hip hop, emo dominated culture.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just a matter of opinion, December 7, 2002

I first listened to Zeromancer, "Dr.Online" at a friends house after they bought a cd called "Gravers Paradise", While they are definitly very similar in sound and style to bands such as Orgy, Videodrone, and in someways stabbing westward, I think this band has a little something extra. I purchased the CD a bit ago and If you are really into upbeat industrial trancy stuff, I would say you would definitly like this CD. The CD is nothing like the others im my collection (mostly bands like suicide commando, siechtum, strapping young lad, dark army, berzerker, das ich, and hocico), But its pretty good when I need a pick me up/mood enhancer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album!!!, October 22, 2004
This review is from: Eurotrash (Audio CD)
This album is a strange one. I have to say that much. It starts off with "Doctor Online" which some people probably will think is rather controversial. It doesn't matter though. I still like it. It's hard and fast. Loud, pumping beats.

I can't really describe this kind of music to tell you the truth. It's kind of an industrial/goth rock sound, much like the others say. It's the closest thing I can call it, until we find some new word to describe this fusion of music styles.

Otherwise, this album is solid. Filled with hard hitting, fast songs. One of my favorites is "Chromebitch" Great lyrics, great music. It's one of the slower songs, but I still love it.

Definitely recommended to any Goth fan. Check out their newest album, and it's more alternativey/goth rock. Very interesting......
