Product Description

The Electrostatic Duster attracts dust like a magnet. It is very easy to use for dusting ceiling fans and other hard-to-reach places. The Head can even be shaped to contour hard to reach objects, including furniture with overhang. Perfect tool for reaching the high places, to get rid of spider webs, remove dust or just shine the top of the furniture you could never reach. With the 3 section extension, this toll is very modular. The head duster even unscrews to let you hold the duster by hand, making it easier to use on close objects. Made of light weight aluminum, the pole is light to hold, but yet sturdy enough to push hard on the dirt. Care Instructions: Shake clean or wash with gentle detergent. Color may vary. The duster is of a light blue color, as pictured in the main picture. The pole handle and extension separators are black as pictured in the main picture.

I could not make up my mind which of two extendable dusters to purchase. So I got them both (since I have a two-story house, it does make it convenient to have a duster on each floor for spider webs!) and am keeping them both. They are similar, but each has a different advantage that I value.

Here are my plusses and minuses, by number of stars, for this duster, the
Eurow Electrostatic Duster with 3 sections extension pole
and the
OXO Good Grips Microfiber Extendable Duster
in a few categories.
As you can see, I like both of these dusters!

1. How well does the dust-head work?
***** 5 stars Eurow - The cleaning head is made up of soft filaments. This duster is better at plain old dusting of objects with crevices. For example, we have a set of leather masks hanging on the wall. The very light filaments can be swirled around the masks, fluffing away dust in all the folds and crevices, without in any way damaging the masks. This picks up spider webs and dustballs, but just regular soft dust, in spite of the "electrostatic" in the duster's name, is more fluffed into the air.
***** 5 stars Oxo - The cleaning head is very soft, but the filaments are wider and shorter, more cloth-like, than the extremely soft ones of the Eurow. This makes the Oxo not as good on objects like the masks. However, the Oxo is better on general, and especially on more heavy-duty, dusting. I don't dust as often as I should, so the tops of hanging painting frames, for example, can get quite a layer of dust.

My boss bought a bunch of these for the business and gave me one to try.
The first thing I noticed is how light this duster is, despite the 3 extensions. Then of course, the extensions themselves seem to be made of aluminum. Once deployed, I could easily reach the corners of all rooms in the house. When folded, the duster takes only 3.5 feet and fits well behind the door of my cleaning closet. The duster itself can also be used without the extensions as it can be unscrewed from the pole. The high point on my ceiling is about 14 feet in the stairway. Beyond that you would probably need a stepping stool. In any case, I found this duster perfect to get rid of all the spider webs on the porch and dusting the inside of the house. Also the duster itself can bend and was nice for the crown moldings and cabinet tops. I would recommend this product to anyone, especially at that price.

My house attracts dust like a black suit attracts white cat hairs. This is the absolute best duster I have used, bar none.

The brush itself seems to magically attract dust on its own. A light pass over a surface is all it takes in most cases.

However, what I love is the extension pole that transforms this from a hand-held tool to one that can reach pretty high. I will agree with other comments that the pole is flimsy, but I am careful with mine and have had no problems.

Every room in my house has ceiling fans and this brush can be angled to reach every surface and edge - that feature alone makes this duster worth every penny to me.

Also, I have high ceilings with high horizontal surfaces that are difficult to reach without a step ladder - until I got this duster. Now I make a pass over those high surfaces and it keeps dust from accumulating and eventually getting scattered by the ceiling fans.

It's difficult for a 64 year old man to get excited about household cleaning tools, but in the case of this duster I truly am. I will not hesitate to replace it with an identical one if the handle eventually does break.

I am a professional housekeeper. I used this on a move-out clean that took me 10 hours this last weekend. Halfway through dusting windows, ceilings, and fan blades, the wire insert the fibers are attached to came loose and started spinning around in the plastic end that screws onto the pole (which does NOT extend as far as i really need it to-I had to take it off the 3x ext it came on and put it on the one I had that extends to 2x what it came with). Overall the fibers work great, I have used similar products before, but if i have to epoxy the wire back into the handle, AND use an extension i already had, it makes it a PITA and a WASTE of $ for me.

I use it by am not totally impressed. It tends to lose pieces and does not automatically attract dust. It is OK for inbetween use but I still have to dust.

We have loads of spiders out here, so I purchased for cleaning ceiling and wall corners, fans, base boards. etc. It's a handy tool, easily lengthens and shortens and makes quick work of this chose. The head bends easily which makes me wonder how strong the metal(?) connector is. Would have liked the top part to the fluffy bit to be more substantial as the fluff flops down when you hold it vertical. In otherwords it would be better if the fluff was more substantial.
