Eva is the best Peruvian female singer,
By
This review is from: Eva Leyenda Peruana (Audio CD)
I am a Peruvian who lives in Lima so I can say Eva Ayllon is the real idol of Peruvian music. Her voice is similar to that of the Brazilian singer Alcione, very strong and clear and very beautiful. The songs included in this album are just a few of the great number of hits she has had in Peru. She has a lot of CDs here and several DVDs. Try this one and I am sure Amazon will start receiving pressure to market more products of this great Peruvian singer.

Amazing Com;plex Vocals,

This review is from: Eva Leyenda Peruana (Audio CD)
Eva Ayllon's vocals are nothing short of amazing: her songs focus on the coastal plains of Lima, she can sing the lando, festejo, and val styles with equal fervor, and the range of influences varies from Andean to African - with everything in between.
Ayllon specializes in complex syncopated beats and interactions between voice and instrumentals - an almost jazzy background offers uniquely Peruvian embellishments and a recording replete with dance beats from Caribbean influences.

Passionate, beautiful music,
By Gringa "World Music Fan" (Massachussetts, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Eva Leyenda Peruana (Audio CD)
Eva Ayllon is known as the "golden voice of Peru" for a reason! She is a powerful, passionate singer, with a beautiful voice, singing spectacular music. The songs on this CD range from joyful traditional afro-peruvian songs (including the popular "Le Dije a Papa" and "Inga"), to heartbreaking "valses", including some songs by the unforgettable Chabuca Granda.
It's an obvious choice for Peruvians, and I'm thrilled she's finally being introduced to World Music fans elsewhere!
