5.0 out of 5 stars "i'll find out who my friends are"
RIP AOAG. its always a shame when a great band decides to call it a day. especially when they are as inspiring and amazing as anatomy of a ghost. 2003 released 'evanesce', was a breath of fresh air, like hearing colours. the music they make can be described as none other than beautiful. my ears have not been exposed to such an amazing musical creation in a long time...

First off, this CD really isn't that good......Cotton Hell, you can't even compare these guys to Silverstein or Hawthorne Heights, those bands are so much better its not even funny. Go complain about bands and write negative reviews that make sense you idiot. Go listen to Korn and Slipknot and Fear Factory and all those crappy metal bands whose members are 30+ years old...

RIP AOAG. its always a shame when a great band decides to call it a day. especially when they are as inspiring and amazing as anatomy of a ghost. 2003 released 'evanesce', was a breath of fresh air, like hearing colours. the music they make can be described as none other than beautiful. my ears have not been exposed to such an amazing musical creation in a long time. technical riffs, uplifting melodies and hooks that somehow avoid being cheesy or cliched. this album is a must have for any fan of music. contrast in vocals adds a refreshing twist to this album, not to mention the quriky lyrics you WILL find yourself singing along too. my only concern is that some of the more 'aggressive' vocals are not powerful enough and it shows. but dont let that put you off i urge you to buy this album and discover the appeal of both poppy shimmer and a darker, more aggressive sound.

5.0 out of 5 stars amazing, May 3, 2005

i have never heard an album quite like this. the technicality of the music itself is amazing. beautiful guitar work. i love the vocals, too. fast-paced alternate vocals on this cd will give you goose bumps. this band broke up-- but they are back together.

honestly, upon first listening to this cd, i wondered what the hell they were thinking when they wrote it, but i love it now. i listened to it again and saw the genius in it. all said and done, it's nothing short of a masterpiece in my opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Innovative and Indiscreet!!, April 19, 2005
This review is from: Evanesce (Audio CD)
First Off, comparing AOAG to Silverstein and Hawthorne Heights is a joke itself. Those bands can't even compare to what Anatomy offers in variety and innovativeness of their music. They are (were) unlike any other band and the great thing is they didn't sound like any other man, I thought Hawthorne and Silverstein were the same band the sound the same. AOAG is awesome from their riffs to their distinct breakdowns they will always be an amazing band, too bad they broke up, if you like great music that doesn't sound like everything else, then you should buy this, they are one of the best bands you haven't heard of, just like KEEPING DISTANCE and NOVICE!!

5.0 out of 5 stars My first review, December 31, 2005

Whoever made the comment about future of emo, well I hate to break it to you but they broke up in 2004. I was very dissapointed, I had already gotten my tickets to see them, which I was expecting more than bands like coheed and MCR (before they were on mtv), alkaline trio. The future of emo is gone now. I have good news for you, though. From the ashes of anatomy has been developed a new funk/soul influenced band that stays true to the melodic roots of "emo": enter 'Portugal. The Man', well thats I'll say about them. As for evanesce; this is one of the best albums you will find in modern music. It's raw, unadulterated sound presents itself as organic and refreshingly original. The album houses a dark eerie feel that portrays itself as a genuine piece of art (opposed to the trendy/marketable material of bands such as hawthorne heights and silverstein).

5.0 out of 5 stars support a good band, March 8, 2004
This review is from: Evanesce (Audio CD)
pacific northwest version of coheed and cambria meets thursday. easily one of the most underrated and overlooked bands out there....this cd rocks, but live performances really show was this band is made of. go buy this if youre interested in some good music or if you thought rock was even close to becoming repetitive.

To the guy that was stupid enough to mistake Anatomy for AFI you are absolutly retarded. First off yeah anatomy is gnarly and so is AFI but them sounding similar is a ridiculous statment. You my friend are a complete and total moron.

p.s. Anatomy rocks so buy their CD
