4.0 out of 5 stars The Birthday of Rei Ayanami
When I first recieved the CD, I expected some dialogue tracts to give a story. It is actually a collection of BGM and a few vocal tracts. It is not the best of the Eva CDs that you could buy, but it is worth buying. One of the unique aspects of this CD is that Rei sings Cruel Angel Thesis, which I do not believe happens on any other CD.

3.0 out of 5 stars one strong vocal track but overall just okay
Most of this CD consists of instrumental tracks--which may be of interest to the fans of the series--that create a pensive atmosphere. There are three vocal tracks, all sung by Megumi Hayasibara. The best one would have to be her version of Soul's Refrain (Tamasii no RUFURAN). It has a cooler and softer effect to it compared to the emotionally charged original version,...

It has a cooler and softer effect to it compared to the emotionally charged original version, but at the same time maintains a strong sense of beat and rhythm. Hayasibara also sang in a remix of Cruel Angel's Thesis (Zankoku na Tensi no TE-ZE), but it doesn't really stand out, although better than the third and remaining song, which is her version of Fly Me to the Moon.

Here is the track listing, with * indicating vocals.
1. Zankoku na Tensi no TE-ZE [A.D.2001]/Cruel Angel's Thesis*
2. Rei I
3. Hedgehog's Dilemma
4. Rei II
5. FLY ME TO THE MOON*
6. Do you love me ?
7. HOSTILITY RESTRAINED
8. Good, or Don't Be.
9. Tamasii no RUFURAN [Aqua Groove Mix]/Soul's Refrain*
10. Hajimari he no Touhi
11. Heisoku no Kakudai
12. Yume no Sukima
13. THANATOS - IF I CAN'T BE YOURS -
14. FLY ME TO THE MOON
