5.0 out of 5 stars Great drumhead
I got this drumhead paired with the EMAD resonant head. At first I thought the sound was a bit boomy, even with the damping rings (it comes with two different sized rings). Then I put a small blanket/towel inside, barely resting it on the beater head. Now it's punchier, but still every bit as loud as it was before.

Definitely a good head for those who like...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good while it lasted
I am a casual drummer, usually only playing about once a week, had this drum head for six months now to the day and it ripped right in the middle. I've used it a fair amount but feels like it should of lasted longer seeing as I don't play that much. Just glad it wasn't too expensive.

I think I'm going to stick with this brand but perhaps I'll get a nicer one...

Definitely a good head for those who like short, punchy kick sounds.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Emad drum batter head is the best there is., May 11, 2010

Aimed at most all drummers except for maybe jazz guys.
I play country, pop, & rock, and have 18,20,22, & 24" bass drums,
all of which benefited greatly from the Emad.

The Emad will tame overtones, and give you a lower pitched thump.
Works equally well with a closed or ported resonant heads.

It comes with two foam deadening rings for a little damping or a lot.
The smaller ring has always been just the ticket for me.

Highly recommended!

I have an Aquarian Super Kick II and a Remo Power Stroke 3. But this one has them both beaten by a mile. What a powerful thud you get here. I'm sure results may vary from drum to drum, but I'm a believer in this head.
