This product helps to control the "ringing" that is present in a bass drum. It will not make the drum sound "deeper" like a feather pillow. The attachments are (2) strips of velcro that did not stick to the inside of my wood drum; so the item came loose after a week and was floating around inside the drum. It is also a bit lighter than i expected, but it will do the job in giving you control of your sound and looks better than an old pillow or towel. For that deeper sound, I changed out the single 7mil head and ordered a double ply 7mil head and that did the trick to deliver the solid deep sound that I was after.

So let me say this, this product did great for playing at home, at a gig, or with my band. BUT! When it came to recording, it didn't offer enough muffling to allow the bass drum to catch the punch of my bass drum, so I replaced it with a Serta bed pillow, and that did the job.

The Evans BD Pillow has worked well for me over the past 8 years or so. It was a door prize at a MI PAS convention. I managed not to lose it so I am shopping for a second for my second BD. I use it in a 26" with Aquarian Super Kick heads and it BOOMS. I use it on the batter with a small hand towel on the resonant in my smaller 18" BD too. Quality material has kept it in one piece and the nylon seam makes it fold nicely to control the amount of contact.

I have used this bass drum damper in all of my drum kits. It is so versatile and easy to use that once you install it and get the sound you want, you won't have to worry about it again. The current kick drum i have used it in is my new Mapex Mars 22" x 18" which is a birch shell. This pad along with my Evans EMAD2 Clear batter head give my kick such an attack and sound that is perfect for the rock sound that I'm going for.

Works great on my 22 X 18. Easy to adjust. Nice muffled sound without the need for stuffing junk in the shell.

This was a lot lighter-weight than expected. It weighs almost nothing. I put it in my my Gretsch Renown Maple 22" kick and it provides light dampening. I didn't think it was enough at first, but after while, I think it's just right. The drum still has resonance and tone. If you want a "thud" sound, you may need something different.

it comes with velcro strips so it sticks to the drum without any moving around. it allowed me to deaden the batter head for playability while allowing the resonant head to vibrate freely for sustain and sound

Great Bass Drum Damper, this doesn't deaden the bass like a pillow, when you hit your bass drum the damper reacts off the bass head, this creates a solid sound but still removes the over tones.

Perfect for my 20" kick. just enough to take a LITTLE ring out. but leaves me with a great wide open sound. now i can fine tune the kick with a small towel or by tunig the drum itself.

This thing gets the job done. It is smaller than I need for my 18" deep bass drum, so I use two. But I feel like a fool using them because in my 35 years of playing drums I've never needed to buy a bass drum pillow. I just used bass drum pillows. But now I am sick of keeping track of flea invested pillows and nasty tattered blankets and got these manufactured bass drum dampers. They work exactly as advertised, though I hated the idea of applying Velcro to the inside of my expensive bass drum shell. I can get exactly the tone I want by adjusting the position of the pads or turning them around. Very good at what they do.

is it worth the price? Well, if you can afford it and want a consistent and multipurpose damper, this is well worth the price.
