Music for when you want to feel connected,
By LaKarune (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Evaporate (Audio CD)
I love this CD and listen to it whenever I want a peaceful, at-one-with-the-world feeling. Shannon's catchy, upbeat songs are rockin' in a way that makes me feel connected - with her, with other women, with what's happening in my world. Her slower numbers are quiet meditations that are a wonderful combination of simple & complex - they say so much, in such an accessible way. One reviewer said her music is "easy", but I think "accessible" is a better description, because this is not "easy listening" - it's good, solid, rock-n-roll from a woman's perspective - think Aimee Mann & Chrissy Hynde with a Venice Beach vibe. Go get it!

Easy Listening Middle-of-the-Road Rock,
This review is from: Evaporate (Audio CD)
In a world dominating by the pop and fizz of modern pop and punk driven radio, I find it more than a bit refreshing to find an easy-to-listen middle-of-the-road rockin' woman like Shannon Moore, whose sound reminds me of some of The Pretenders more introspective work. With an opening track like "Evaporate" it's clear that she wants to find her spot and simply blend in a bit -- while it's a metaphor for joining with another person it certainly also identifies a quality in her music. Most of her lyrics are based on metaphors -- calling a lover a mirage in "Quicksand," "Speed of Light" as the journey of life and relationships -- and they're founded in life and living relationships. "Angels Talk" is a wonderful easy celebration of finding contentment in the love of another, and what amazes me most is how easy (yeah, I think I've used the word three times now!) her sound is. While other divas are harping to impress you with the range and power of their voice, Shannon seeks out her epiphanies in the subtle range of emotions evoked in her vocals. This isn't the kind of disc you're gonna blare thru the speakers; this is, simply, just great to listen to.

Fabulous...do not miss!,

I had the pleasure of meeting the artist recently and decided to check out her website [...] ...you should too. Listen to the samples. I was instantly hooked and could not "Let it Go."
Great sound, poignant lyrics...I've read some comparisons to Sheryl Crowe or Chrissy Hynde, if that helps. Seriously, listen and decide for yourself. You will not be disappointed.
