This review is from: Even Canadians Get the Blues (Audio CD)
This is the bluesiest album Rob McConnell and the Boss Brass ever recorded. From Blue Tag to The Shuffle Boogie Swamp Groove Blue it's a winner. My favorites are The Clarinet is Black and Blue and The Shuffle Boogie Swamp Groove Blue, which is about a twelve minute-long hammond organ feature. I have never, ever got tired of hearing this tune! It also features solos by Rob, I thing Guido and a tenor player. The tenor player almost jumps up on the bar for his solo. This album is worth the money just for this tune- but the others are winners, too. Accept no substitutes! Look for the drunk Mounty (Rob McConnell) on the cover, eh?
