Book Description

July 1, 2006
In today's high-tech world, it's cool to be a geek. But it's not cool to talk like a geek. Even a Geek Can Speak shows anyone how to express complex ideas in ways that are simple, that connect with listeners, and that persuade.

Focusing Your Message: One internet security executive won over non-technical business owners by focusing on the importance of internet security to the business world. Result: Listeners said - I'm buying that stock.

Keeping it Simple: A software consultant steered clear of the technical details when pitching to a CEO and focused on three key points: saving money, security and competitiveness. Result: He won the business.

Telling Stories: A telecommunications saleswoman spoke to a users' group and illustrated her points with stories, rather than dwelling too much in detail. Result: A jump in new orders.

Not Looking Like a Geek: An internet executive learned to connect with his audience merely by energizing his voice. Result: He received praise unlike any he'd received before.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple formulas to help presentation skills! June 25, 2008
Format:Paperback
This book was very helpful for learning great ways to formulate everyday presentations. As an engineer, it is easier for me to follow a straightforward formula than start a presenation from scratch. I was able to learn how to better capture my audience's attention. I recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful Speaking Made Simple June 10, 2008
Format:Paperback
If you are looking for a fast, fun read, filled with great tips and advice, look no further. We have had the pleasure of using Mr. Asher's company for speaking consulting for our management team and the results were fantastic. As an added benefit he provided us with copies of the book which is now required reading for the executives in our ranks.

Having to speak many times to large numbers of people I now consistently use his formula with glowing results including:
*better retention of key messaging
*higher audience participation
*significantly higher quality presentations
*much more positive feedback post meeting

Perhaps more importantly we use the formula in just about all of our communication channels including emails, newsletters, conference calls, and have also seen terrific results.

Thanks Speechworks & Joey Asher!

5.0 out of 5 stars Have fun, laugh, and learn. June 14, 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
You'll laugh out loud or at a minimum smile at the situations Joey uses to teach you how to be a better speaker. And teach he does. It's the single most readable book on the subject I've ever bought. And I've read dozens. It's a winner!
