Even a Geek Can Speak
I just finished reading Even a Geek Can Speak and I cannot wait for my next presentation! Asher really knows how we think and how to teach non-sales types like me how to survive and succeed in the sales and marketing side of our business. I loved the stories and the way Asher illustrates his suggestions. I highly recommend this book.

Simple formulas to help presentation skills!,

This book was very helpful for learning great ways to formulate everyday presentations. As an engineer, it is easier for me to follow a straightforward formula than start a presenation from scratch. I was able to learn how to better capture my audience's attention. I recommend it!

Powerful Speaking Made Simple,

If you are looking for a fast, fun read, filled with great tips and advice, look no further. We have had the pleasure of using Mr. Asher's company for speaking consulting for our management team and the results were fantastic. As an added benefit he provided us with copies of the book which is now required reading for the executives in our ranks.
Having to speak many times to large numbers of people I now consistently use his formula with glowing results including: *better retention of key messaging *higher audience participation *significantly higher quality presentations *much more positive feedback post meeting Perhaps more importantly we use the formula in just about all of our communication channels including emails, newsletters, conference calls, and have also seen terrific results. Thanks Speechworks & Joey Asher!

Best book ever for introverts that need to do technical presenting,
By Matt (Salt Lake City, Utah, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Even a Geek Can Speak (Paperback)
My wife read this book in her MBA program, and she desperately tried to get me to read it. (I was a Ph.D. student at the time; now I'm a professor.)
I'd been giving technical presentations for years when she finally got me to read it. (It only took an afternoon!) I was mortified as I started looking back at all the talks I'd given. They were terrible, and suddenly, I could see how and why they were terrible. This book is bristling with good, easy advice for how to put together a great talk on a technical subject. It's especially helpful for "geeks" like me, people that are not natural public speakers and who can get apprehensive about getting on a stage in front of others. I've used the book's tips for dealing with nervousness with every public speaking engagement, and after a couple years practicing them, I don't even get nervous before big talks anymore! I never thought that would be possible. I require my graduate students preparing their first public presentation to read this book.

I've been through a lot of other presentation books and quite a few training sessions on presenting. This book covers almost all of the commonly-covered topics, and does a fantastic job of picking out and stressing the ones most often messed up by technical speakers. I highly recommend it, particularly if it's the only book you intend to get on presenting and you're a geek.
The only negative about the book is that I felt there was a lot of fluffy text (like their various refund policies), particularly at the start of each chapter and in some of the sidebars. It didn't particularly add to the text or make it more approachable --- it just made the book longer.

This book makes it stupidly easy to create great presentations. The easy to follow formula gives you ways of presenting your ideas that make sense.Once you read this book, you'll start to nice things about presentations and speeches that you never noticed before. It is like a curtain has been lifted, and now you will know what all the great presenters have known for years.

Best Book about Public Speaking...ever!,
This review is from: Even a Geek Can Speak (Paperback)
The fundamentals of great communicating and presenting are all here...getting your points across in a focused, simple way that connects with your listener. But the information is presented in such a fun way, with such great stories, that you'll wonder why you ever shied away from public speaking. This is the best book on public speaking on the market today!
