4.0 out of 5 stars The Manhattans-"Even Now"
I have been a Manhattans' Fan for about 24 years, so I feel I know them and their music. I love the new CD, because it's just classic Manhattans style. Gerald's smooth lead vocals always sends you into a trance. My favorite on the CD is "Turn Out The Stars". The background vocals and that horn has a beautiful smooth jazz feel.I just put the CD player on repeat,...

3.0 out of 5 stars EVEN NOW
Even now I am happy to hear the voices of Gerald Alston and Blue Lovett. But, this disc lacks the music that filled the background of all their greatest hits.

Gerald's smooth lead vocals always sends you into a trance. My favorite on the CD is "Turn Out The Stars". I also like "Just Love Me Right", "Nites Like This", the title tune, "Even Now", "How Much More?", and "I Got It Right". You will not be disappointed. 5.0 out of 5 stars Turn Out the Stars is Amazing!, April 25, 2005

I heard a special on XM Radio's Soul Street channel a few days ago, and Gerald & Blue of the Manhattans dropped by to talk with the DJ. The discussion eventually came around to this album, and they played "Turn Out the Stars", which I actually had not heard until then. I listened to it in complete awe, it is truly an amazing performance by one of the great classic soul groups. "Turn Out the Stars" alone is worth the price of the disc, which I hurried out and bought later the same day. I can't stop playing it. This tune is a monster! Gerald's soulful, emotion-charged vocals stand out on this cut above all the others.
All I can say is get this disc and you'll be as awed as I was on this particular cut.

We are happy to listen to this New beautiful album. The ledgent still lives, the Manhattans is still moreover become more powerful & younger chorus group.Melodies are more contemporary as Boys 2 men.But The manhattans have strong traditional power blend than ohters.Anyway,Wonderful album, full of beatiful meldies!!!This is the great album that we have been waiting for over 18 years since thier "Back to the basics" album from Columbia label 1985.In this new Manhattans are Gerald alston,Blue lovette,Troy May,Dave Tyson.Thier chorus/Hermonies become extreamlly more fresher & younger than ever!!also every tunes has much considered constructions, beautiful "Now" Melodies with traditional Manhattans' style of Gerald's voice & Blue's baritone talking!!!In fact Gerald's voice is extreamlly hot & tender,Blue's talking appearances are many!!Even Now album's recording quality is 4 stars.especially Backing vocal recording is so nice.So all the fan of R&B soul music must buy it and it will be treasure CD of your collections.

I just purchased this CD and this is an absolutely fantastic CD! I love all the tracks (with the exception of #5 - a remake of Sly Stone's hit)... But the other tracks are just fantastic. I can't get enough! If you are a fan of the Manhattans or just of the great groups of the past - you have to have this CD in your collection. I have this in my cd changer and can't get enough of it! Great job by the Manhattans!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Manhattans - Even Now, May 23, 2007
This review is from: Even Now (Audio CD)
I absolutely LOVE this CD!! I have bought several copies for family and friends over the last year or two. The lyrics are simple and beautiful, which is something that is sorely lacking in today's music. The soothing sounds can mellow you out after a hard day, or put you in the mood with that special someone.

This one's a must have!!
