About the Author

Leslie Andrews often tells clients that playing golf has been as important to her business career as her Ivy League MBA. She has achieved success in both the Fortune 500 world and now as a golf teaching professional and entrepreneur. As Executive Director of the LPGA Teaching Professionals and through her company, Leslie Andrews Golf and GolfingWomen, Andrews has been privileged to help thousands of women enhance their careers—and their lives—through golf. Adrienne Wax spent 20+ years in executive level account positions at Wunderman, a division of Y&R. And despite being in the city, she spent as much of that time as possible on the golf course—building relationships with existing clients and, more importantly, cultivating relationships with prospects. It gave her a leg up on her competitors—and she worked it her advantage time and again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for golf and business May 8, 2012
Format:Paperback
Even Par was an engaging book about the common mental traps that prevent women from taking the opportunities in golf and business that would advance and improve their lives. The book is easy to read, you feel as if Leslie is talking directly to you. The early chapters are applicable to any woman in business, how women tend to think everyone is better prepared than them. I found myself inspired by the Carpe Diem tone of the book. The middle chapters are specific to golf. However they are interesting to even non-golfers due to the engaging writing style and personal stories. The book ends with a combination of both golf and general business tips. Made me even think about taking up golf!Even Par: How Golf Helps Women Gain the Upper Hand in Business

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read for Any Female Golfer May 4, 2012
By amdm
Format:Kindle Edition
This is an intelligent and engaging book filled with essential information, not only for its intended audience of business women, but for all women golfers, particularly those who feel somewhat intimidated by the guys on the course. Leslie's delivery is easy, witty, and very inviting. She packs wads of information and encouragement into this small gem. This is the perfect gift for any woman interested in playing the game. It is filled with very practical information in chapters such as "The Nuts and Bolts of Getting Started" and "The Rules of Golf," as well as valuable psychological tips to help even the playing field when competing with males. It's directed at woman whose careers would benefit from golf, but the information in this book is valuable for any woman on any course. It will give huge confidence to both the hesitant and competent female golfer.
