My almost 4 year old is over 40 lbs. so it was time to upgrade. He loves this seat! It's light weight so he's able to move the booster himself to a different spot in our minivan and he's able to put his seatbelt on and take it off all by himself. All of this makes him feel like a big boy. Also, he's mature enough to listen when we say he must never take the seat belt off while the car is moving. Keep that in mind when deciding on this type of seat.

My son doesn't fall asleep in the car much anymore, so I was not concerned about having support on the sides. I would definitely not recommend these backless boosters for a child younger than 3 for that reason.

I'm not a big traveler, but I can imagine using this lightweight seat on planes and rental cars, without the expense of renting or lugging a full-size, heavy car seat.

Safety is a number one priority for me with my son. I had Britax carseats in both family cars and he used them until he was too tall for their recommendation. I did a lot of research and found that this booster was very highly rated and that the Insurance Institute of Highway safety had it listed as a best buy if used with the attached clip. Originally, I had a notion that the full back would be safer but my research only cited comfort for longer trips as an advantage for the full back seat, so I went with this one. The price is great and the color choices are fun. We have a red and blue one for our cars. The drink holders are nice and they will hold even odd shaped juice boxes. I highly recommend this seat to anyone whose child no longer fits in a carseat.

I bought 2 (one for each car) for my daughter, 4. She loves it! It makes her feel like a big girl. It very light and easy for her to move. The cup holders are cool, because its a strap that goes across, which means you can put different size and shape items in it. My daughter likes putting her little stuffed animals in it. The color is a nice shade of red. She calls it her Lightning McQueen seat, and thinks she's in a race car. The lap belt sits nice across her lap with this seat, and it has a guide for the shoulder belt if it doesn't fit right. I don't need to use it because my car's shoulder belts are height adjustable, so I can get the right position that way. The cushion on seat is surprisingly confortable, and really easy to remove if you need to clean it. I would recommend this seat to everybody!

Bought for my grandaughter, used in my Jeep Liberty, great new slender style fits better than other bulky boosters. Cup holder expands with elastic to hold bigger/odd shaped water bottles and/or drinks. Would buy again for other grandaughter.

I decided on the Evenflo Big Kid AMP based on safety reviews I saw on the Today show. My son is 44 inches, 40 pounds and we needed a booster seat for our Disney trip, but didn't want to lug around a large seat. I was worried he would be too skinny for the seat, but he fit perfectly. The seat does have a clip attached to the bottom, it is light weight and easy to travel with. I am pleased with my purchase.

I bought this seat because I wanted to have an extra booster seat for the bench seat of my Caravan. What was most important to me were the dimensions, to be sure I could fit three car seats (two boosters, one 5-point harness) across the back bench seat. This booster is about an inch skinnier than my other booster, so it fit perfectly into my seat space. I was also happy that it feels nice and solid, and I like the simplicity of the design. And it was a good price too.

This is good for a backless booster. We use it for my 5-year-old (45" 41 lbs) when we fly as it is just smaller to lug around with everything else. It is very easy to use. I like the seat belt adjuster strap - helps me get the shoulder belt in the correct position. She also likes the cup holder (I like that there are two - so she can share one with her sister, and that they are flexible - so they hold juice boxes, etc). It's easy to clean - just wipe down.

The things I don't like are just because it's backless - she slumps really badly if she falls asleep in it, no head protection in a crash.

If you're looking for a backless, I highly recommend it.

This is our third Evenflo Big Kid booster car seat purchase. We loved the first one so much that we bought 2 more as backups for the grandparents. The seat is padded (not too plush though but adequate for shorter trips) and you just need to strap on the adult seat belt. As such, you do not need to permanently attach the car seat on (and lose a seat) as you would need to do with the convertible car seats. This is a room saver and great for grandparents who occasionally use it to pick up the grandkids.

Make sure your kid is 40 lb. or more to use this seat though. The only negative is the flimsy drink holder. The rubber band was easy broken and that rendered the drink holder unusable.

This is a great booster seat. Very sturdy. I can see why it's rated so highly and has a higher weight limit than other seats. I bought it for my granddaughter to use in our car and this is so much better than the one she has in her own car. It's actually kind of scary how cheap the other major brand is compared to this one. You can't beat the price on it either. You won't be disappointed.

I sometime watch my younger brother and I hated lugging around the full booster from my mothers car to mine. I decided to just buy a cheap booster for when he rides around town with me. I chose this one because I liked the elastic on the side of the cup holder. Seemed more secure than the Graco one, I just see drinks spilling all over my leather seats. I also liked how the bottom was one flat piece. I just thought it seemed more sturdy. He loved the color and loves how comfortable it is. Can't go wrong with this.
