This is a well-made, easy to haul-around booster seat. The manufacturers say that it is "suitable for 30-100 pounds" on the outside of the box, but do not disclose the height requirements (nor age requirements, for that matter). We bought it for a vacation-- thought it would be lighter and easier to "gate check" than a conventional, convertible toddler carseat. The owner's manual (once you open the box) reveals that the child must also be 38" tall and at least 3 years old, which would have been NICE TO KNOW in advance of buying it (our son is about 37" tall, and was really just a tad too short for it). Even Evenflo's website does not include this critical information in the carseat's description! Once he's a little bit taller, it'll be a very nice carseat. LOVE the retractable drink holders (both sides) and the arm rests that pivot up (much easier for kid to climb into seat). It is very easy to detach the seat from the back portion, which is good if you want to collapse it to stick in a large bag for gate checking, but not so good when you're carrying it by the back (the release handle is in the back and is the most convenient thing to hang on to) and it "releases" and comes in two! It would be nice if they attached a carrying handle. Good seat, though. Pretty inexpensive, too.

The Evenflo Big Kid LX car seats are quite good. I've 3 of them installed in our Honda mini for our triplet grandsons & they fit fine.
If you go to [...] there is a great deal of information available on car seats.
One of the things I've observed is that a lot of people have trouble properly installing their kids car seats; infant, toddler or booster types.
On the referenced web site you can find "Child Safety Seat Inspection Stations" listed throughout the country. They may be located in police/fire stations or other town, city or county departments. They can help correct and adjust the car seat so it fits properly.

1.)ADVICE TO POTENTIAL BUYER-CHECK OUT EVENFLO'S WEB SITE. THEY OFFER A $5.00 COUPON ON-LINE.
2.) ON THEIR WEB SITE READ ABOUT EVENFLO'S SIDE IMPACT TESTING (THERE ARE NO TEST STANDARDS FROM THE NHTSA YET). EVENFLO HAS TESTED THESE CAR SEATS USING THE SAME STANDARDS AS THOSE FOR AUTOMOBILE SIDE IMPACT. THE'RE THE ONLY COMPANY DOING THIS AS FAR AS I KNOW.

I have 4 kids in car seats. This is seat #12 for us. We rotate them in and out as the seat gets older, and the kids get bigger. I was looking for a nice, safe seat, that was narrow. This helps if you are trying to get three in car seats in the back of the car. I can do 3 in the back seat with two in this seat. The other is a regular booster from britax.

I also love how plush the seat is. I have purchased an evenflo seat before and I hated it. This one I love. It allows you to move the arms up and down and move/remove the cup holders. I also like that you can remove the back of the seat with ease. The britax was trunky to remove the back of the seat. I liked this seat so much I bought a second one for our other car.

This car seat is definitely great for the price. I fully recommend it as a secondary car seat for short drives. I do not recommend it at all to be used as the main car seat. The problem with it is, like many others mention, if my 3 year old falls a sleep in it, his head keeps falling down. The side head supports do not work well. I purchased this to leave it at my brother's who lives a couple hundred miles away and we fly to see his family regularly. This way, each time I visit I don't have to worry about how to get a car seat for my son. For my purpose,..the car seat is excellent :)

Once my son outgrew his car seat it was time to get a booster seat. We wanted something lightweight and economical that had high safety ratings and a headrest on either side. Evenflo fit our requirements.

I love the snack and cup holders on either side, perfect for juice boxes, small toys and snacks. The only complaint about them is that they can sometimes be difficult to pull out; you have to pull them out when the child is not seated.

The light weight and ease of taking it in and out of the car makes this booster seat super convenient. My son can buckle himself in and the rotating armrests help him get buckled easier. The hooks that hold the chest strap are situated just right so that when the chest strap secures him, it doesn't rub on his neck - it crosses his chest where it belongs.

This booster chair seems padded well enough, I've heard no complaints from dear son. The head rests support his head well enough when he falls asleep - this was the main reason we chose this style. We have not yet taken the back off.

Overall, we're quite pleased!

We have been using adaptable car seats with LATCH (as boosters) for our two boys, but recently bought a car with a third-row seat. We bought two of these in hopes that they would be light enough to be easily moveable to access the back seat or move the kids back there when other adults need to use the middle row. This seat gets excellent points for that- light, portable, and easy to move around the car. Attractive, easy to asssemble, and the boys love the dual cup holders and moveable arm rests. The seat also makes it easy to position the shoulder strap appropriately for the child's size. Other pluses: the fabric is easy to put on and take off, making clean-up easy, and the back is easy to remove but stays properly attached unless released- we remove the back for even easier portability to other cars on short trips.

Drawbacks: the plastic material is more flexible (flimsy?) than I would like. The side supports on the head rest are just slightly too small, such that the boys' heads slide off sometimes when they are sleeping (a silly millimeter or two more would seem to have done the trick). The boys complained about their bottoms hurting on longer trips (a few hours or more), although we seem to have fixed that by sliding a thin piece of foam rubber under the bottom seat cover.

Overall, the shortcomings are acceptable given that there is a significant increase in cost to the next models up the food chain, and some of those that I have had experience with (through neighbors, nieces and nephews) have other drawbacks that this seat doesn't.

Bottom line- happy with the purchase.
