Not Recommended according to Safety Institute,

I bought this booster a few weeks ago and thought how the straps worked were weird. I was contemplating returning it until I saw an article in the news today, that confirmed my thoughts on returning it ASAP. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety released a report today on "Best Bets" for booster seat safety. Only six models were "not recommended" and this was the first on the list. Avoid buying this car seat if safety matters to you.

Having never owned a high-end convertible or booster carseat, I can't compare this to much. However, the few observations I can make about this seat are:
Pros: - The entire seat is well-cushioned and comfortable - Nice headrest. Valuable when you've got a sleepy child (especially since the seat doesn't recline) - Harness, when fastened properly, secures our little one well. - Latches are much easier to hook and unhook than our prior Graco Cons: - Harness is too complicated. We were finally able to figure it out, but surely it could have been designed to secure more easily. - Cup-holders came off imediately upon installation. Don't buy because of the accessories. They're not worth even putting on. - Doesn't secure well in an older vehicle without a latch system. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. Our little one likes being in his "big boy" forward-facing seat, and you really can't beat the price. I would recommend to anyone with a budget like mine(aka- can't spend $100+ on a seat).

I like it but hard to go from Britax to inexpensive seat...,

From what I gather this is almost identical to the LX model except the seat pad??? Anyway, its cute, comfy for my son, easy to install into the car. We had a Britax Marathon prior, so I miss the niceness of that one, but since we decided to spend less on the booster/harness seat I'm happy with choice.
The little accessories are a bit silly, and the armrests serve little purpose. I hate the adjustments for harness being on the chest, but since my 3 yr old son is 38lbs and 41 inches tall, the slack doesn't get in the way, its just weird to have it there. It is easy to install into the car, you just have to pull back the cover and reach inside to pull it more parallel to the seat back rather than the other types that you can pull upwards or perpendicular to seat, so I got a nice snug fit no problem. Changing the shoulder harnesses to fit his height was extremely easy compared to our Graco seat and Britax we had before, so that is a plus! He seems happy in it, in fact he fell asleep in it today and his head didn't slump over nearly as forward as it used to in his other car seats which is nice, but I think its unavoidable unless you have a recline feature in a seat (do they make those and is that even safe?) Overall, I'm content with it, I think when we buy another seat for my husbands car we will go with a different brand but this one will be fine for us. I would recommend this if you are on a budget and looking for a simple seat/booster! But if you have money, buy a nicer one.

We have bought 3 of these for a 2-year old. They are quite verstile as the size range is 20-100 lbs. Very easy to set up and they give you a choice of arm options. You can use the supplied arms or add one or both of the supplied accesories, a cup holder, and a book holder.
These would match well with almost any interior and it is a very attractive seat. The inner head rest does seem very comfortable for younger children. Our child has no problem with long car drives in this seat. Lastly they are fairly lightweight. Recommended.

The straps on this seat are poorly designed in that one side of the shoulder harness is fixed in length. As a result, you're kind of stuck with how much slack you have for the right shoulder. My daughter in her heavy jackets cant buckle up evenly since the right side doesn't allow for adjustments. When I called Evenflo, they said the solution was to take her out of her jacket. But we're in the Northeast and the car gets very cold. Kind of a silly solution - to make sure my daughter wears a light jacket every time she gets in the car. Really bad design, Evenflo.

Nice seat for the price. The seat itself is very comfy. I like the cup holder and snack holder, but they are not as sturdy as I would have hoped. They stay in place as long as there is not too much pressure on them.
Overall, good value for the price.

Poor Design,
This review is from: Evenflo Chase DLX Harness Booster Seat, Nashville (Baby Product)
This car seat is a struggle every time we use it. The shoulder straps are actually a single piece of material that loops through the back. You have to adjust the length in the front, and then wiggle the material through the back of the car seat to make each side even. This makes adjustments very difficult. The adjuster for the straps is located on the strap itself, which gets in the way of buckling the harness into place between the child's legs. The cup holder does not attach very securely, and is awkward for my child. The placement of the cup holder is made worse by the placement of the arm rests.

The Evenflo Chase DLX harness Booster Seat has worked really well for my family. I would agree with a lot of the other comments on some of the minor cosmetic complaints on the carseat.
* The adusting strap is in strange position and kind of gets in the way, but nothing too irritating. Also, my son has not touched the strap or tried unbuckle himself, so I don't have any safety concerns like other reviewers may have. * The arm rests and drink holders DO pop on and off very easily, but again other reviews stated that before I bought the carseat so I was not concerned or surprised. * The head pillow seemed to just get in the way and push my son's head out instead of providing a resting place - I took it off since it has a velcro strap and problem solved. *I like the quality of material, it is soft to the touch, but there isn't a lot of padding like the Evenflo transition seats - this is definetely more of a big-kids seat. Aside from those few negatives, I really like the car seat, and my son really likes it too. It was a great fit for our budget. It is not heavy so it is easy to carry and really easy to install. He is still using the harness straps, so I don't have any reviews yet as to when you can you the car seat belt, but I like the idea that there is an option as my son grows.

Our Alpha-Omega has more padding, but this seat has better instructions and the belts are easier to adjust. A very good value for children 30+ pounds.

The buckle on the strap to tighten and loosen the harness is no where near as effective and reliable as the old-fashioned lever/button in the front of the seat. Plus, the little snap-on armrests snap off everytime I take the kid out of the seat. In conclusion, it's OK. If you want convenience for you and comfort for your kid, fork over another $50.
