Dishwasher safe so easy to clean.

I love the glass bottle its self, it holds up well; our toddler dropped one by accident, and it did not break or crack.

This is one of those products that you just love to write a review for: It's top quality and a huge value. My wife, daughter, and I used these and the 4 oz. models through countless cycles and they rock...

Pros

+ It's just glass - no BPA, no odors, no clouding, no scratches.
+ Easy to clean - they won't melt and they won't scratch with frequent cleaning. (don't use steel wool, of course)
+ They come with nipples, rings, and caps. Nice!
+ The threads match Medela breast pump valve threads. This is a really nice bonus, we think.
+ Value - have you seen the prices that some glass bottles are going for?! These aren't from a company that got into the business of glass bottles because of the BPA scare. Evenflo has been making glass bottles for a long, long time and the value to quality ratio is huge.
+ Quality - The nipples that came with these bottles have been great - tough and long-lasting. One thing I really like about the bottles is that they are clear, with gradations molded into the glass itself. This means no printed markings to obscure your view into the bottle, nothing to wear off, and no worries about what chemicals or heavy metals may be in the paint. Also, we've never broken one in nearly two years of constant use and cleanings.

Cons

- For those who are terrified of broken glass, well, these will probably break if you drop them on a hard surface.

Our experience

Our daughter used these through many, many cycles, first with the four ounce models and then with these as her appetite grew. She was breastfed and transitioned to pumped milk when mommy went back to work. We also used these for formula on occasion.

I used playtex drop in nursers for our first baby. They were so easy. But after learning about the dangers of plastics, my husband and I decided to buy glass bottles for our second child. I researched all of the glass bottles on the market.

At first, i wanted a wide-mouth bottle because they are so much easier to put powder formula into with the scoop and easier to clean. I also spent a ton of time looking for a bottle with a silicone sleeve, because i was afraid of breaking a bottle. So after all of that research, i found the lifefactory bottles that had the silicone sleeve, but they are narrow mouthed. Then i found the avent bottles, which are wide mouthed. I couldn't believe how expensive these bottles were! I believe the avent bottles were about $9 each. So if we wanted 8 bottles, that would add up to $72! And that's without sleeves!

So we decided to keep looking. My husband picked up some of the evenflo glass bottles at Target. Because they are so cheap, we thought we'd give them a try. We were both pleasantly surprised. We purchased the 4 ounce ones to start, which are light and perfect for when your baby is a newborn. The first thing i noticed was that the glass was thick, so i have no worries about breaking the bottle. No silicone sleeves needed! That eliminates that problem. Then i tried to wash the bottle. The first bottle brush i used Munchkin Deluxe Bottle Brush, Colors May Vary did not fit into the narrow neck of the bottle. But then the second brush we tried fit! It's the best brush ever!! OXO Tot Bottle Brush with Nipple Cleaner and Stand, Orange.

I was nervous buying non-medela bottles because I wanted to have a seamless fit between the bottle and the pump. These seem like they'll be fantastic for breast milk storage AND they fit the threads on the pump replacement parts. Super price! No chemicals. Easy to boil and disinfect without worrying about melting. I'm one happy momma. (would be nice if evenflo created rubber grips and sold them SEPERATELY intead of only in pre packaged form)

I was happy to find that these Evenflo glass bottles were so cheap. But after a few weeks of use I found out why: they are made of cheap glass and break after several times of heating them up. No where in the description or packaging does it say these are not for use with a bottle warmer, but they're not. Like I said, after several times heating them up, our bottles began to break. I contacted Evenflo customer service and was told: "I do want to advise you we don't recommend bottle warmers. We recommend warming the filled bottle by running it under warm to hot tap water or warming a pan of water on the stove, but do not let it boil; then remove the pan from heat and place the bottle in the pan of warm water. Do not microwave the bottle as it can cause hot spots that could burn baby and microwaving kills nutrients." It does have a disclaimer on the bottle that rapid temperature change may cause breakage, but in my opinion, the methods of warming the bottle from customer service would also constitute rapid temperature change. Don't get these bottles if you plan to warm them up at all.

If you want glass bottles, buy ones made out of borosilicate glass (the same stuff pyrex is made of), which can go directly from the freezer to a pot of boiling water without damaging the glass. A few examples of baby bottles made of borosilicate glass:
