Jane's Jump Up Bug,
By
This review is from: Evenflo Classic Johnny Jump Up Doorway Jumper - Bug (Baby Product)
Our seven month old daughter does not like being on her tummy so she does not like to crawl or attempt to crawl. She loves kicking and we got the Johnny Jump Up Bug to help her use her legs more without having to be laying down on her tummy. She loves it. She now loves sitting up and kicking her legs and making herself move around. Since Johnny Jump Up Bug does not have a tray it is easy to get her in and out and she has not come close to pinching her fingers like the reviews for jumpers that have trays usually state. We are very pleased with the quality for it's low price and will use it for our future kids.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Evenflo Jump Up (Baby Product)
My daughter has been using he Jenny Jump Up since she was 7 months old. At first she just dangled there, but after a week or so she got the hang of jumping. Now, at nearly 9 months, I don't know who gets a bigger kick out of it--her or everyone who gets to see her jumping and giggling. Now that she is becoming more mobile she only tolerates it for short spurts, but she does have a blast for those 7 minutes! I was concerned about damage to the door moulding, but so far I see none. Here's why I like it:
1. At about $20, you can't go wrong. Throw in another $5 item on Amazon and you may qualify for free shipping. 2. It's space efficient and travels well (as long as you are going to a place with the right size interior door jams and trim) 3. So far we have had no injuries with it--though my daughter is not unusually acrobatic--just the typical jumper. 4. It was just the thing to keep my baby occupied when she wanted to stand/jump but was still pretty immobile (and when I was unable to assist) Here are a few things to note: 1.Some reviewers complain that the spring is too stiff, but it's actually a friction problem (when the spring rubs against the plastic tube that encases it). I used a q-tip to smear petroleum jelly (chosen for it's baby safeness) between the spring and plastic casing, and it fixed the problem. 2. Make sure you have an interior door jam that fits the specified width and that has trim around it. Otherwise you will not be able to use it. 3. It can be a pain getting the child in (aiming squirmy legs for two holes in a dangling seat) and back out (you pick up the child and the seat comes, too). If you are willing to put up with the minor inconvenience, its a great toy. 4. I only gave it 4 stars beacuse it can only be used for a small window of time--from the time they have good head control till the time they prefer to move around freely. But for $20, maybe I'm expecting too much!

Overall, pretty good,

The clamp that hangs from the door frame is very secure, and the strap is adjustable for the baby's height. It's rather hard to get the baby into it, however. It's also rather large and bulky and my baby gets his hands stuck in the leg holes. I wish it didn't have the metal frame and fit more snugly around his body so he felt more free to jump around. This problem will probably not be such an issue when he gets bigger, though.
Overall, it's a good product.

New mom of five month old baby,

This product is well made and a value for the cost. But the bucket seat is huge. I baught this for my daughter who was four months old at the time and weighed almost sixteen pounds and 25 inches. Her legs were spread wide making it difficult to jump, and her body slipped from one side of the seat to the other. I tried stuffing a blanket around her to keep in the middle, but she was never able to enjoy it. I since purchased a much smaller jumper that she enjoys now. I kept this jumper because I do like it and think she will enjoy it at about 8 to 10 months when she is a bigger baby, if she's not already walking by then.

I returned this for the version with the tray,

This seemed like the original johnny jump-up I had for my first child 13 years ago. We loved that one, so I got this one for my baby and after spending almost half an hour figuring out how to put it together, it didn't work very well. It just didn't seem as SPRINGY as it should be. I ended up returning it and getting the $40 version with the tray instead (the Jump & Go). People have complained about the tray pinching baby's fingers against the doorway, but we have a wide doorway, so it works well and is a lot springier. Also, our little guy likes the toy tray on the Jump & Go version a lot.

Johnny Jump Up,
This review is from: Evenflo Classic Johnny Jump Up Doorway Jumper - Bug (Baby Product)
I am completly satisfied with the Evenflo Johnny Jump Up. I bought this to keep at my house when my granddaughter is visiting here. She has one at her house and loved it so much I had to buy one. She gets very excited while jumping and I believe it is good exercise and she has fun while in it.I had one for my kids when they were babies. The Johnny Jump Up can be adjusted according to height, so as to allow free jumping. It is easy to put up and take down and can be put in any doorway so she can be easily seen and she sees us.I am confident that this is a safe product and would recommend it to anyone.

***Dangerous Product*** Support Strapping Breaks,

This review is from: Evenflo Classic Johnny Jump Up Doorway Jumper - Bug (Baby Product)
My daughter loves the thing, but it's pretty dangerous. She is just under the 24 lb weight limit and was spinning around in the chair when the main support strap snapped and she fell to the ground. It's a good thing it only sits about 18 inches off the ground, but we have hardwoods... She had only used it a half dozen or so times before. I was surprised that the nylon webbing they used for the main support loses all strength when it is twisted and snaps like thread. If you can't keep your little ones from spinning in it, it might be time to put it away...

Johnny Dangle and Spin,
By
This review is from: Evenflo Jump Up (Baby Product)
The spring was too tight so there is no "jump" in the Johnny Jump Up. My son just hung there pathetically. He bent his knees and just kind of swung. At 4 months, the basket was way too big for him, he could only get one arm over the bar, and the other was tucked inside because he couldn't reach the other side. He just chewed on the bar, and thats the most entertainment he got out of it. When he did try to jump, if only one of his feet touched the ground, it would spin out of control.

My daughter absolutely LOVED playing in this. She would jump in it until she was completely worn out. She would laugh and squeal the entire time she was in it. I would just sit and laugh at how excited she was when she was jumping around like a monkey in it. She couldn't get enough of jumping in the Johnny Jump up and was upset when she finally outgrew it(We finally had to invest in a large trampoline and net).

What happened to the bounce?,
By Danielle (Norfolk VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Evenflo Jump Up (Baby Product)
My other children loved jumping in their jumper but this one stinks! It doesn't go anywhere. My son can only jump as high as his little legs push him - he doesn't even get off the ground. It's as if they are trying to make it too safe for babies. They've taken all the bounce out of it. Boring!
