We bought this as a 3rd seat so our babysitter/nanny could pick our son up from school, and we thought Grandma might move to town and inherit it. For comparison, our primary seats are a Britax Boulevard (pricey, but the best, at least in 2007) and a Fisher Price Safe Voyage --essentially a re-badged Britax Marathon for substantially less money (no longer available, unfortunately, as it probably cut into Britax profit margins). I thought the Evenflo Titan appeared to be the best choice in the 2-figure bracket, appearing nicer than the Graco ComfortSport, Eddie Bauer rebadged Cosco junk, etc., and I'm not saying it still isn't. But if you think you're getting Britax quality for a song, you're seriously fooling yourself. I was recently rear-ended (no child in the car, and not a scratch on me, thankfully), and thus I've decided to retire my Britax Boulevard (due to expire in 5 months anyway, as car seats should not be used longer than 6 years from the date of manufacture). So I just swapped in the 2008 Evenflo Titan into my 2009 Nissan Murano as a stop-gap. Poor fit. I could not obtain the rock-solid fit I have grown accustomed to with our other seats, at least in this vehicle; the seat slides a little side-to-side and fore-to-aft on the leather seat (with seat protector), even after putting my 223 lb weight on the seat and pulling the straps as tight as possible. It's probably fine, but I'm just used to better. In fact, I think it did install better in my wife's 2004 Mazda6 with cloth seats, so your mileage may vary. And as proof that it is tight somewhere, I can hardly pull the strap that loosens/tightens the 5-point harness, as it's apparently butting up against the back of my car's seat. Again, it wasn't as bad in my wife's vehicle, as I recall.Read more ›

Bought this because it could hold more weight than most other car seats, the problem was that when I installed it, it was not at all secure. I followed the instructions exactly and even went online and view the installation video, but the entire back of the seat would move a least a foot forward, it would seem if there was a head on collision my babys face would hit the back seat very easily. Doesn't seem safe to me. I returned it.

I like this carseat for my son. He was getting to big for his other carseat so we switched and I ended up finding this one. I would recommend this one to a friend. The only flaw about this carseat is that my son falls asleep in it and his head is constantly going forward. Also the head padding part doesn't move and you have to kind of move it up in order to starp him in and it's not adjustable. Other than that it's a pretty good carseat he can look out and he loves it.

Very pleased with this new car seat. The new car seat laws in Michigan made it difficult to find a car seat that will work rear facing until 2 years of age. This seat fits my son great and he seems comfortable and seems to enjoy his new ride.
