5.0 out of 5 stars Great car seat!!
I bought this for my step-daughters new baby boy and she seems to be very pleased with it. She said that it was easier to carry then her old one and she even found the stroller that matches and purchased that. I looked for a couple of days in town and nobody seemed to have anything that was even close in price to this one or that was even in stock. This worked out really...

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT user friendly!
This car seat has to be one of my least favorites. The design is terrible. The car seat literally rocks into the base under a catch, making it difficult to place the car seat into the base and remove it from the base. Add a heavy baby and your headache has increased. The fact that the car seat rocks into the base makes it no safer than any other car seat out there, it...

I looked for a couple of days in town and nobody seemed to have anything that was even close in price to this one or that was even in stock. This worked out really well as I feel I got a great price, free shipping and they sent it right to her door. So much easier then shopping in town.

2.0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk., April 10, 2009

Not happy with this one. I'm returning it to the store to get a better one. When you install it with the vehicle seatbelt it fits snugly and won't budge for a side or front impact, but you can easily lift the thing up from the front. I don't understand how this can be safe.

Also it is a pain to fit the seat into the base. You have to rather violently and noisily unclasp it from the base - not a good choice if you're hoping to keep the baby asleep. It also takes a good deal of practice to fit this thing INTO the base.

Very annoying all around. I wish this had been better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Needed for Premie, February 17, 2010
Evenflo is the only car seat brand that will fit a premature infant properly. Our son was 10 weeks premature, weighing 4 pounds when we brought him home. We originally had a Graco car seat but the NICU would not allow us to take the baby home in it, as the harness straps were too high. We bought the Evenflo car seat because it was the only one available with shoulder straps short enough to properlly fit a tiny infant. It was installed by nurses certified in car seat safety. When strapped in with hook anchors and the seat base, the seat should not wiggle more than 1 inch in any direction.

"Rear facing car seats are meant to allow some rocking movement at the head end of the car seat. In a crash, this movement will help cradle your child and protect him." [...]

The car seat alone is very light and the handle design makes it much easier to carry without it banging on the back of the knee. However, it is considerably longer/taller than the Graco seat we had making it impossible for anyone to sit in the front passenger seat (we had to push the seat and tip the seat-back all the way forward leaving no room in the seat for anyone). We used it until our son was tall enough to fit into the Graco seat and it served its purpose very well, if only it were shorter.

3.0 out of 5 stars Functional, but has some quirks, October 12, 2009

I've been using this car seat for about one month. The canopy is really junky and useless. It often falls behind the back of the car seat. It seems like it should have a hard rib at the base of the canopy to keep this part from buckling. I find it very difficult, even after one month, to fit the car seat into its base. It has to be at an exact angle for it to fit into the base. When you finally get the right angle, it makes a very loud click sound that will startle, if not wake up, a sleeping infant. The straps are very difficult to adjust. I wish there were a way to adjust them from the front or side of the seat. You have to adjust the straps when the car seat is not in its base. You have to push in a tab at the back and pull a strap to tighten or loosen it. It's a lot of work and it's difficult to get the straps to budge. Other than that, my infant likes to sit in the car seat.

Infant car seats have a such short lifespan (you can only use it until the baby outgrows it, which doesn't take very long), so I don't know that I would have spent more money for a better car seat.

Lightweight, after buying car seats for each of my 3 sons this is by far the best, and easiest to carry.

3.0 out of 5 stars car seat, functional and economical, March 19, 2009

This seat has a nice appearance in terms of crisp, neutral colors. It is lightweight, which will be nice for mom when recovering from a c-section and still rebuilding upper body strength. The fabric, hood, and plastic do not seem to be made of super durable material...but good enough...particularly for the nice price that this seat can be purchased for.

I purchased this infant car seat after we thought we were done having kids -surprise baby #4! It was the cheapest infant car seat. Perfect except for the canopy always gets in the way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy so far., December 16, 2008
The seat has worked great for us so far. I really like the color. I also like that it isn't heavy but still feels sturdy. The only thing I don't love is there isn't a built in head support and Evenflo didn't have one available specifically from them. Other then that it has been great.

2.0 out of 5 stars Difficult to use, October 3, 2009
By
Anne S. (Oklahoma United States) - See all my reviews
I am a mother of 4 and used this car seat for my 4th baby. This car seat is very difficult to use. The first problem is that it doesn't lean back enough in the base for a new born to be safe. It sits too high. Our baby's head flopped forward. As she got bigger, we had to change the adjustment for the straps and this was a pain to deal with, not easy at all. I still can't adjust the tightness when she is in it. When putting it in and out of the base, you have to tilt it so far on an angle to hook or unhook it that I couldn't do it with the baby it in, it was too heavy and the baby was jostled around too much. Our baby has shorter legs, yet by the time she was 17 lbs, her feet touched the back seat, yet she was not big enough to move forward facing. I would look elsewhere. There are car seats out there that are much better.
