5.0 out of 5 stars Great Entertainer at a reasonable cost.
I bought this exersaucer when my son was 5 months old and had enough head control for an upright toy. 3.0 out of 5 stars love it - but not for tall babies
This is an awesome toy and my son loves it but I was very dissapointed when I read the instructions and it said to stop using for a baby over 30 inches tall. You're supposed to be able to use it until your baby can walk but my son is only 5 months old and he is 29 inches tall so if you have a big baby - I probably wouldn't buy this.

I bought this exersaucer when my son was 5 months old and had enough head control for an upright toy. We already had a jumperoo that I had received as a gift, but it looked like my son was not really that interested in it,I really wanted something that would entertain my son for a bit so I could have a few minutes to do something I thought an exersaucer (with so many more toys than the jumperoo) would be even more fun. I also felt that the exersaucer would be a bit easier for him to use at first since at its lowest setting it's lower than the jumperoo and therefore better for slightly smaller children.

At first, the bright colors were a bit overwhelming to him.he would stay in it for a little while then start crying .Not wanting to pack and return this heavy item i would put him everyday in it for a minute or two then gradually working up to 10mins a day.
By the age of 9 mths my son started playing in this saucer and would stay up to 45mins playing with it.My son was particularly interested in the spin wheel with little balls in it also the car with a horn on the top.He also liked the small rubber soft toys that hang and would chew on them. By 10mths he was rocking the saucer vigorously and seemed to enjoy that a lot.

As for assembly and storage, the exersaucer is slightly different than the jumperoo or the aquarium cradle swing, and I've found it much easier to move from room to room than either the jumperoo or cradle swing. It also easily collapses into a relatively flat circle, which makes it good to pop in the car and take along as a portable entertainer. Assembly was easy except for installing the lower (green) legs into the yellow base.
Overall, I highly recommend this exersaucer. It is not that expensive as compared to the other ones out there and with the frequent Toy's R us coupons drop the price down furthar. These items also have great reasale value and I have found I can easily recoup most of the price of items like these later on by reselling it.Great for keeping baby's attention while you cook or clean etc I would say if you have the extra cash to spare get this item you won't regret it.....

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun play time, May 16, 2006
This review is from: Evenflo Exersaucer Mega Circus (Baby Product)
I bought this when my baby was about 5 months old and she loves it. One good thing about it is you can switch around 5 of the toys (switch-a-roos) so that they are in different positions. Yes, this did take 30 to 45 minutes to put together, but there really aren't many baby toys that don't take at least that long to assemble!

As far as the reviewers saying that their younger (3 month old babies) were overwhelmed by the exersaucer or hate being in it.....well...the exersaucer really isn't supposed to be for very young babies. I think the youngest age range is around 4 to 5 months! But if you are going to put a younger baby in it and the baby is "overwhelmed", just remove the switcharoos. In addition, babies all have different moods during the day, so try putting your baby in the exersaucer when they are in a happy and playful mood. Even my now almost 8 month old has times when she does or doesn't like to be in the exersaucer. And even some days where she doesn't like being in it and some days where she loves being in it. That's not the fault of they toy that the baby is not ALWAYS amused by it.

I have 2 reasons we rated this as 4 stars instead of 5. The first is that after about 3 monhts, we have yet to figure out how to fold it flat. The second reason is that it is extremely difficult to find replacement swith a roos. After 3 months of my baby playing with the same toys on it, I think it's time for a change. The evenflo website does not sell them directly, but lists Babies R Us as being the only retailer that carries them. Our Babies R Us does not have them and the online Babies R Us doesn't seem to have them either. I found one website that does carry them (http://www.baby-wise.com/), but they don't carry the ones that evenflo has on their website. I really wanted the apple book one. My older baby would love flipping the "pages".

So one of the selling points of the exersaucer is the switchable toys, but yet they are difficult to find and very limited in what is available. And most of the switcharoos don't even do anything. They are just meant to grab and stick in the mouth, rather than having any parts that can be manipulated by the baby.

These are so difficult to find that I have been continuously looking on ebay for them and they are never even listed for sale on there.

If it weren't for those two things, I would have given this product a 5.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty fun; food dish seems like a waste and challenging to assemble, September 17, 2006
This review is from: Evenflo Exersaucer Mega Circus (Baby Product)
Our son has a blast in this thing. However, instead of the food dishes, they should have put another toy there. Can't see putting something in those dishes while he's playing anyway; it would create quite a mess. My dad assembled this thing and it was a challenge.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great ExeSaucer for the Price, August 16, 2006
This review is from: Evenflo Exersaucer Mega Circus (Baby Product)
I took my six month old son to Babies R Us to "try out" all the exesauers and he liked this one the best, and it was one of the least expensive. The bright colors and different toys keep him entertained and some of the toys I thought were boring (like the 2 page book) are his favorite. I agree with the other reviewer - the snack tray seems like kind of a waste of space, but I just use it to put other toys on which he promptly throws on the floor - a fun game. The height adjustment accomodates babies that are on the smaller size and will grow with your child until he is probably to old to want to play in it anymore. A great choice and you can't beat the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great item, July 15, 2006
This review is from: Evenflo Exersaucer Mega Circus (Baby Product)
Though after buying this our living room looks even more like a baby playground, I'm glad we did. My son loves the monkeys and the spinning light up thing. It is also very easy to clean, his diaper leaked all over it once, and it washed out great. The bright colors, and different textures in this center are great. It folds down pretty well, and slides under our coffee table, we love the height adjustment feature.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for kids, challenge to assemble, July 10, 2006

Our son thoroughly enjoyed the ExerSaucer, and it was well worth it. However, I should mention that this is one of the more challenging items that I have assembled--and I'm a mechanical engineer.

There are joints in the legs that allow the top of the ExerSaucer to collapse down to the bottom for storage. This feature is what adds most of the frustration to the assembly, and we never actually used the feature since it doesn't buy you much extra space. If you're concerned about the assembly, keep this warning in mind as there are comparable activity centers with static legs that do not pivot to collapse the toy.

Otherwise, it is an excellent purchase that should give months of use. We even used it occasionally as a makeshift feeding chair.

4.0 out of 5 stars pretty good, April 26, 2006
This review is from: Evenflo Exersaucer Mega Circus (Baby Product)
this type of product is fantastic. good exercise with lots to do no matter which way the child turns. my daughter, though, with one model of this brand (with the yellow top, rather than the red), kept hitting her head on one of the toys. we took that one out. another one, she was able to pull out several times herself and shove the long end into her mouth. not good. another toy comes out on occasion, but it's not nearly as loose now that i've fiddled with the tabs on it. all in all, great idea, but be ever watchfull for the first few times in it.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the BEST Toys, April 7, 2006

I at first didnt hear much about the exersaucer, I saw it while at toys r us one day and bought it as a spur of the moment type thing. I brought it home and the moment we put my son in it, he just fell in love. He bites all the toys, he plays with all of them. He just adores the toy and wants to be in it 24/7. It keeps him entertained while I make his milk during the day and after his naps. It has cute circus music too that you can turn off. It's easy to put together and very colorful. It also has a seat that spins around if the baby walks around. This toy has taught my son a lot and even other children! My friends 6 month old is VERY fussy, she ONLY wants her mother to hold her all the time and she gets very crabby. Well they came over a few weeks ago and she fell in love with the exersaucer as well and didnt want to be picked up anymore. So her mother bought her an exersaucer now, this is an awesome toy and I recommend it to every parent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lives up to its reputation., September 14, 2006

The Exersaucer Mega lives up to its rep as being a fun, safe alternative to traditional walkers. My daughter is 6 months old, but was born a month early. As a result she is a bit behind physically. In the last month I've noticed a marked improvement in her strength and balance, and she absolutely adores "talking" to the animals. I would only detract half a star for difficulty of assembly and folding. You almost need 2 people to fold it.
