I looked at 10 to 20 exersaucers and read tons of reviews until I finally decided on this one. I personally liked the design [hubby says I picked it more for me than our girl! :)], plus I LOVE the fact that it has more than one function. Baby things are way too expensive, and since this one grows with her it's great! I haven't used the floorgym, since she already had one she loved, but she is at the exersaucer stage and having a blast. Didn't like it at first, but then I realized it was because she couldn't get close enough to anything to chew (and she was teething something horrible!). Once I dropped a toy or two on the table, she was happy as can be-the only thing, of course, is she winds up throwing those in the floor. Now she spins all the way around, playing for a good amount of time-sometimes longer than the "recommended" time but I've learned she gets more upset if we try to pull her out before she's done. We did end up switching the parrot and the dragonfly (the parrot kept whacking the tree with the butterflies). There are some battery-operated pieces, but our LO is just as happy if we don't turn them on even though there's no real interaction with them (with the exception of the croc). PLUS the music is not aggravating like some of the toys you hear! The globe and the croc do letters, shapes, and colors, which is obviously too advanced for a 6month old, BUT the next stage up is the table for standing, and according to the product info it can be used up to 24months. I'm extremely pleased: nothing is coming off that isn't supposed to, no springs have snapped, no paint is chipping off, and it's providing many many hours of entertainment for our baby-plus us watching her!

The appeal to me of this learning center was that it has three stages of use so that you can get a lot of life out of it. That is certainly true, but I found that there are definite gaps between the stages. Below I have reviewed each stage as we have used it so far.

Floor Mat (2 stars) - I did not start using this right away with my daughter because I honestly didn't even think about opening the box at first. I had another activity mat that I had been using with her, and that one had lights, music, various textures, etc to keep her occupied. This mat is essentially a glorified changing pad that has a toy bar to sit over it. By the time I thought to use it with my daughter, probably around 2 months, she would grab the bar and pull the whole thing towards herself. It is very lightweight and nothing anchors it to the ground aside from equally lightweight plastic feet. Once she pulled on it, it really wasn't in the right position for her to actually play with the toys, so what was the point? It is also not good for encouraging "tummy time" since there are no toys or textures on the mat itself. I could see this being good for very young babies who essentially enjoy looking at it from their back, maybe occasionally swinging hands at it.

Exersaucer (5 stars) - as an exersaucer, I liked this unit a lot. My daughter didn't always like being put in it (didn't want to be put down), but we could usually interest her in the toys and she would stay fairly content for 20-30 minutes, which for my daughter was saying a lot! She started in it at 4 months with the go-ahead from her pediatrician and we just dismantled it as she is now in the furniture cruising stage.

When you purchase this product you have to completely assemble the entire thing. That isn't a big deal for me but the instructions I got skipped a very HUGE piece of information and had I not had 4 children and set up 4 excersaucers before, I probably wouldn't have been able to figure it out. There are 3 sets of springs that you have to install. The largest set goes in towards the end. When you are assembling the brown peds to the to tray piece, you need to put the large springs in between them first before you put the four screws in. Other than than, the product is GREAT! I would have given 5 starts but they skipped that step which was very important. I have a 4 month old and she hates to be put down. She wont sit in a swing, bouncy chair or anything else for longer than 5 minutes before she gets upset. After I set up this exersaucer, she sat in it for over an hour and she absolutely loves it! I can slide it around my house and she it able to play and see me and see what I am doing which seems to make her happy. It also came with a mat so you could convert it into a floor mat for the baby to lay on and play with some of the toys that came with it. It also is able to be broken down and a table can be made out of it in an "S" figure. I haven't gotten that far yet because she is still too little but I know as she gets older and too big for the seat it will be a great little toy for her to stand and play with.

I purchased this bc my 3 month old seemed to be getting very bored and there is only so much I can do to entertain her at her age. She usually tags along with me in her baby bjorn carrier while I'm doing chores around our apartment. I realized she had limited head control so wouldn't use much for a while.

When it arrived earlier than expected I took it out and was overwhelmed by the springs to make it bounce and all the plastic pieces and what not. I looked at the directions though and to my surprise they were CLEAR AND EASY TO READ AND FOLLOW! Being a single mom with 3 kids and one clingy baby this was a huge relief that assembly instructions were so good. I have alwayshad bad luck with instructions in the past.

There are a variery of toys that are easy to snap off (for an adult not baby) to clean if needed and a snack tray with cup holder that can also snap off if needed to wash well. My baby will be 4 months in 9 days and will sit in there for about 10 -20 min and look at the toys. She gets mad she's not tall enough to chew the toys and put in her mouth but can spin at the two of the toys to look at for amusement. No batteries or anything but really a good variety of activities. She will grow with this. Now it's just nice for when I need a few minutes to have my hands free. I don't have any regrets about this purchase. It's a nice item that was easy to assemble thanks to great instructions and my baby is content and entertained.
