5.0 out of 5 stars
Best one we've owned yet!, April 20, 2003
I did a lot of research before buying this Ultrasaucer for my 5-month-old son. I have to say that, unlike the other "walkers" that I purchased in the past for my daughters, this one gets 5 stars from me! Here are some of my favorite features:It's portable! The legs collapse EASILY to let it fit in between the seats of your car or even the smallest of trunks. A great way to take it camping or to Grandma's house. It even has a carrying handle, to make it even easier! I'd say that, when folded, it's about 10 inches thick, so you don't need to own a minivan or SUV to transport it in! Chock full of toys at a decent size! Some of the others that we looked at had a lot of wasted space on the play bar. This one has literally crammed as many toys as possible onto the play area, keeping baby entertained longer. The great use of space on this item keeps it from being as gigantic as some of the deluxe saucers out there, which is great in our large but narrow living room! Great teethers! My son loves the fact that there are 4 different toys on here long and flexible enough to get into his mouth! Rotates easily! Some of the others were a pain to swivel the seat, but this one turns so easily that even my 5-month-old son can turn himself with his own fat little feet! Unique, durable colors! This isn't your usual pink-and-blue. It's all rich colors: red, purple, turquoise, orange and bright yellow. No pale, washed out coloring to show the dirt-this saucer will look clean and new long after the others are faded and dingy! EASY height adjustments! All of them *say* they're easy to adjust, but most take Arnold Schwartzenegger to do. This is the only one I've ever used where I was able to easily pull out the adjustment lever on each leg and raise or lower it as often as I needed to. A great asset, since my 2 year old often likes to climb in it when her brother's asleep! And unlike some of the others we tested, the lowest setting on this one lets his feet easily touch the bottom. Big enough for any child! My 5-month-old is a chub (18 pounds), and he still fits in the seat just fine. Some of the others had leg holes too small to fit his pork chops! My 2 year old daughter also fits in it easily, and since it's approved up to 30 pounds it's plenty strong enough for her. A good choice if you also have a jealous toddler wanting to use baby's seat! Engrossing toys! No two toys are alike on this Ultrasaucer, and each one is fascinating to my son in it's turn. When he gets bored with one, we simply rotate him a bit, and he's stunned to find a whole new set to play with! Castle theme is so original! How many more toys does he need with flower-shaped beads on them? And while there are two sound/light toys and two that rattle, none of them are loud; this toy doesn't drive me crazy to listen to for long periods of time, and I can still hear the TV! Overall, I think that you just can't beat this Ultrasaucer by Evenflo. It's well-made, easy to assemble (extremely), foldable, and probably the most original stationary entertainer you'll find!
