Safety Concern,
By Jill (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Evenflo Portable Ultrasaucer (Baby Product)
This product is indeed a necessity and a great way to stimulate your child. One note of caution: there is a taller plastic piece shaped like a jester's head that has 3 rounded points at its top. My child smacked himself in the eye with it and caused damage and swelling. I intentionally kept this and another taller plastic piece off the exersaucer for over a month until I felt my child could handle himself OK in the saucer. But, within 2 days of placing both those pieces back on the saucer, he had an accident. It could have been worse with severe, permanent eye damage caused... I have now pulled this "jester" piece off for good.

Best one we've owned yet!,

I did a lot of research before buying this Ultrasaucer for my 5-month-old son. I have to say that, unlike the other "walkers" that I purchased in the past for my daughters, this one gets 5 stars from me! Here are some of my favorite features:It's portable! The legs collapse EASILY to let it fit in between the seats of your car or even the smallest of trunks. A great way to take it camping or to Grandma's house. It even has a carrying handle, to make it even easier! I'd say that, when folded, it's about 10 inches thick, so you don't need to own a minivan or SUV to transport it in! Chock full of toys at a decent size! Some of the others that we looked at had a lot of wasted space on the play bar. This one has literally crammed as many toys as possible onto the play area, keeping baby entertained longer. The great use of space on this item keeps it from being as gigantic as some of the deluxe saucers out there, which is great in our large but narrow living room! Great teethers! My son loves the fact that there are 4 different toys on here long and flexible enough to get into his mouth! Rotates easily! Some of the others were a pain to swivel the seat, but this one turns so easily that even my 5-month-old son can turn himself with his own fat little feet! Unique, durable colors! This isn't your usual pink-and-blue. It's all rich colors: red, purple, turquoise, orange and bright yellow. No pale, washed out coloring to show the dirt-this saucer will look clean and new long after the others are faded and dingy! EASY height adjustments! All of them *say* they're easy to adjust, but most take Arnold Schwartzenegger to do. This is the only one I've ever used where I was able to easily pull out the adjustment lever on each leg and raise or lower it as often as I needed to. A great asset, since my 2 year old often likes to climb in it when her brother's asleep! And unlike some of the others we tested, the lowest setting on this one lets his feet easily touch the bottom. Big enough for any child! My 5-month-old is a chub (18 pounds), and he still fits in the seat just fine. Some of the others had leg holes too small to fit his pork chops! My 2 year old daughter also fits in it easily, and since it's approved up to 30 pounds it's plenty strong enough for her. A good choice if you also have a jealous toddler wanting to use baby's seat! Engrossing toys! No two toys are alike on this Ultrasaucer, and each one is fascinating to my son in it's turn. When he gets bored with one, we simply rotate him a bit, and he's stunned to find a whole new set to play with! Castle theme is so original! How many more toys does he need with flower-shaped beads on them? And while there are two sound/light toys and two that rattle, none of them are loud; this toy doesn't drive me crazy to listen to for long periods of time, and I can still hear the TV! Overall, I think that you just can't beat this Ultrasaucer by Evenflo. It's well-made, easy to assemble (extremely), foldable, and probably the most original stationary entertainer you'll find!

Great investment!,

My husband and I went back and forth on whether to purchase a ultrasaucer for our 4 month old son. He loves his activity gym, but we were concerned about him spending so much time on his back. We decided to purchase the Portable Fun Saucer to help him gain more neck and upper body strength/coordination. Several of my friends have previous models of the Evenflo saucer, and I have to say, that this model is much better. First off, it's portable. I was concerned that I'd have to muscle it open and shut, but I was surprised to find that it folds quickly, quietly and without too much effot. It easily fits into the backseat or trunk of our Honda Civic for those trips to Grandma's house. It will even fit back into the box it came in if you remove the toys from the tray. This version also has more toys than previous models. The castle-themed toys are colorful and creative. My son loves the King/Queen musical toy, the spinning dragon ball and what baby doesn't love to look at himself in a mirror?!?! He even loves exploring the plastic caps that cover the springs. We keep the stationary legs up, but will lower them once our son is a bit bigger and can handle bouncing and rocking. Yes, the price is enough to make any sensible parent gasp, but believe me, it's worth it. Our son will get a good 8 months of use out if it and if/when we have more children, they'll get to use it too!

A Real Great Toy,
By A Customer
This review is from: Evenflo Portable Ultrasaucer (Baby Product)
I just bought this exersaucer yesterday and my daughter, who is 6 months old, loves it a lot. She was in there for half an hour this morning which considered to be really long because she has never played with something for longer than 10 minutes. The time when she got in there, she was so busy with exploring each toy and bouncing in there crazily. Her daycare provider told me that she loves to be in the mega saucer that they have in the center, so I think it would be good to have one at home so that there would be something to occupy her while I am cooking dinner. Not only this ultra saucer has the toys that she loves, it is also portable and the legs can be flipped up so that it saves a lot of storage space when we have to put it away after she grows out of it. Also, the position of the toys were designed closer than any other exersaucers so my daughter doesn't has any trouble to reach any of them. Those 3 big springs make the saucer to be extra bouncy that gives a lot of fun to her. The ultrasaucer is easy to put together and I didn't have any trouble to assemble it. I really think that is a real good investment and a nice design by Evenflo.

The Best!!,

This review is from: Evenflo Portable Ultrasaucer (Baby Product)
I spent a considerable amount of time looking for a saucer that would be entertaining for my daughter & easy to pick up & go. I FOUND IT!!! My daughter is only 4 months old and was 6 weeks premature. She's still pretty small but wants to be upright when she's awake. She's very alert and likes to look around. In the very short time that we've had this, I've noticed it's helped strengthen her neck and arms, she's not quite the bobble-head doll she was, she's reaching for toys and she LOVES IT! It seems a bit overwhelming when you take it out of the box because of all the "parts." The majority are toys that go on the tray, the actual assembly is quick and easy -- even with a crying baby sitting beside you. The colors are bright to attract attention and the variety of toys is tremendous!! 2 have music and lights, the frog is soft with feet that crinkle (a sound she just loves to hear), the ball is easy to reach and roll (with beads inside), all babies love mirrors and there are 2 different ones plus plush toys, toys that roll, bend & move. Even the spring covers are decorated and attract her attention. There is no wasted space on this saucer and, although only 11 lbs and tiny, she can reach most of the toys already and LOVES to be in this. Because she is small (19 1/2"), I fold a blanket to put under her feet to give her a little more stability so she's not tippie-toe. This seems to work very well since she's so little (and softer on her feet, too!). It's EASY TO FOLD and throw in the car, take outside, to tee ball games -- wherever we need to be -- without packing a suitcase full of toys that get lost, dropped or dirty. It's all there!! You won't regret purchasing this saucer! I surely haven't. I also look forward to the time it gives me to accomplish the things I need to get done without feeling guilty that she's not being entertained or stimulated. I move it to whatever room I'm in to keep an eye on her and go about my house cleaning, folding laundry or just taking 5 minutes to sit down!!

My baby can't get enough of it!!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Evenflo Portable Ultrasaucer (Baby Product)
What an invention!!! This is a lifesaver for parents and an incredible toy for babies! My 4-month old LOVES it!!! She can spend as long as 30 minutes in it without protesting a bit!! :-) And, contrarily to other toys, she doesn't get tired of it!!When we first put her in it, she was a bit overwhelmed by all the toys surrounding her, but after just a week, she is able to turn the little wheel and wiggle the queen and the king to make the music go! It's amazing how much this toy has developed her fine motor skills in so little time. She's also gained a lot of control over her body and is able to pull and balance herself forward or backward. The only drawback I see is that the red saucer has a little rough spot in the middle and she actually scratched her little toe on it. No big deal, but I am going to try to make it smoother. Right now, I just make sure she's wearing socks when I put her in. Although it took me a little over an hour to set it up (and a screwdriver), this toy is a must-have and a winner!!! Both parents and babies will love it!!!

The BEST stationary entertainer available!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Evenflo Portable Ultrasaucer (Baby Product)
My husband and I bought this entertainer for our six month old son after we were disappointed with the little tikes 3 way entertainer. Our son cannot stand or walk yet but loves to stand assisted and play independently. This entertainer has better toys which are slanted downwards to be easier to reach for the child. It's shape fits through doorways much easier and is much lighter. It bounces, rocks, has lights and even music. This entertainer folds down easily for travel and has adjustable height selections. Our son loves this entertainer and so do we, so worth the money!!!

Newer model is safer!,
By Investigative Mom (Indianapolis, IN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Evenflo Portable Ultrasaucer (Baby Product)
I purchased this activity center after much deliberation from the many negative reviews I read on-line regarding the safety of some of the toys. I thought I would just take the "dangerous" ones off. Fortunately, as I was putting the center together, I noticed that some of the toys had been modified to be safer. The castle is now topped with a plastic guard that covers those pesky points. Also, the jester's head now has ony two (and less sharp) points that both point downward. It's impossible for a baby to put these points in its mouth! There is also a small flat area (about 4 inches long) that could be used for snacks or a sippy cup. I have not had any problems with either the spinning ball or the musical king & queen pieces. It is important to note that this new and improved version was not on display at the store--they still had the old model on display. Even the pictures on the box were not updated (the jester's head was, however,)! My daughter loves this thing and I certainly do not regret buying it. The directions for assembly could have been a bit clearer (but couldn't that be said of many baby items)as well as the how-to on folding the legs, but all-in-all it's a great buy!

One of the best baby items we have bought yet!,
By Stacy (Birmingham, Alabama USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Evenflo Portable Ultrasaucer (Baby Product)
After doing alot of homework about the walkers and saucers, I decided to choose this one. The reviews on this board played a big part on my decision. Let me tell you, my 4 month old loves this saucer. She is a very attached baby (wanting to be held ALL the time). But having this in the house now we atleast get 30 minutes "off" time. My husband put together the saucer with ease. And the fold-up is awesome. It's not really that heavy, and will fit in the trunk easily for trips to grandma's. I don't think there is another saucer out there that will provide that many toys and such wonderful colors. Well worth the price.

The Greatest Toy Ever Made,
By
This review is from: Evenflo Portable Ultrasaucer (Baby Product)
My 4 moth old absolutely loves this toy more than anything else that he has. He loves to sit straight up and stand and even though he is a 1/2 inch shorter than most kids his age, his toes can reach the bottom [(on the lowest setting) just enough for him to spin himself around]. The only drawback is that it warns you to not let him stand flat-footed on the bottom of the ultrasaucer, so i folded a blanket and put it underneath him so that his feet can touch the bottom better, without having the interference from the hard plastic grooves on the bottom. I mean I wouldn't want to stand flat-footed on that grooved surface either. I love the fact that the toys are close enough for him to reach them, unlike some others we tested out. I agree with one mom who said that there should be a bar to slide and move toys accross it. Since this one doesn't have that, we bought him the sassy link and rings and we linked them from one toy to another. He really loves that. If u have a tiny love play gym then u can take the hangy toys off of that and attach them to this as well. This saucer also has an empty space where u can put a separate toy on or a binky or a bottle on. The possibilities are endless. We are all very happy with this toy and I know that who ever else buys this toy will be too.
