Saved me!,
This review is from: Evenflo Simplygo Single Breast Pump (Baby Product)
I was traveling for work and my hospital grade pump that I normally used got liquid in the filter and would no longer work. I immediately ran to the store to find a manual pump and came across this inexpensive electric pump. I bought it and it worked great for the two days I used it until I could get a new filter overnighted to me for my everyday pump. I would highly, highly recommend to anyone looking for an inexpensive pump to use every once in awhile. It is not an everyday pump and specifically says so on the box. But would work great for a part-time working mother or someone that occasionally misses a feeding. The other reviews commented on how loud the pump was. I don't think it is any louder than my hospital grade pump and didn't bother me at all. Loved it and highly recommend!!!

You get what you pay for.,

I bought this for $40 a month and a half ago. I had been borrowing my friend's medela pump in style - she paid over $300 for somewhere. The medela has issues of its own. This pump is EXCELLENT FOR $40. Do not buy a $40 pump and expect it to pump as quickly and quietly as the medelas and other 200-300 products, because you will not get it. The pumping is loud, but I mostly pump at home or in a private room of someone's house with people I know so the loudness of the pump....DOESNT MATTER!?! Milk does come out of the horn when you remove it if you are rumdum and cannot simply figure out that to avoid this you must twist the bottle and horn off your breast in a manner that detaches with no pain but drains the residual milk into the bottle. Its not rocket science. The medela pump I borrowed did the EXACT same thing when you unlached it unless you grew a brain and learned to sweep the pump and horn downward or sideways for a split second as you detach it with your finger, as to catch residual milk. The lactation consultants tell us to unlatch a baby with a finger, as well. All in all I am very happy with this pump because I use it for each feeding for 10-15 min and it works just fine.
Another thing I like is it is easy to use, at least compared to the Medela. Medela got milk in the tubes which just looked grody but was also clumsy, I thought anyway. You had to get situated and use one hand to hold and the other to switch on the device and change the settings, whereas this one I can operate with ONE HAND! The Medela doesnt have stands either which seems simply but really is important to me. We have recently moved and I was pumping as I drove since it only takes one hand to operate. You can twist the settings button and push power button all with the same hand you are holding it with. I have run it with or without batteries with success, and the stand is another plus. Since this pump isnt made to do each and every feeding each and every day, I am looking into buying a higher end pump that IS designed for that constant use with giftcards from the shower. I would love to have a pump downstairs and a pump upstairs and not have to move all the paraphanalia! A GREAT BUY FOR $40!!!! If you need to pump each feeding every day, you need to make an investment and not try to go the cheap route (this route)! It says clearly on the side of the box that it isnt suggested for constant use. So I am not going to push the envelope until it brakes and be pumpless, I will accept the facts and buy something that is designed for constant pumping, and use this guy when I am upstairs or when I have to go somewhere. P.S. They have replacement parts on their website (The info is in the box) and the replacement parts are pretty cheap, I looked into it because I lost my overflow valves in the move). When I was using the Medela Pump in I asked myself a few times, SHE PAID HOW MUCH FOR THIS HEAP, and with this thing I'm like I only paid forty bucks for this thing???? Hope this helps.

bad bad pump,
This review is from: Evenflo Simplygo Single Breast Pump (Baby Product)
I bought this pump last minute because I had to go on a trip. It is TERRIBLE!!! DO NOT BUY!!! It's very loud and annoying, but more importantly, it's very uncomfortable, will not work unless your boob is positioned in exactly, precisely the right way, and worst of all, unless you lean forward while you are pumping, the milk will flow backwards out of the horn and into your lap!! DO NOT BUY!! Go for the medela swing, it's expensive but worth the money!!!!
