5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for air travel

3.0 out of 5 stars Great 'Extra' Car seat
For the money this seat is pretty good. I bought it for my niece to use on occasion in my car and it works out perfectly. It does lack padding so I wouldn't recommend it for a seat a child would use on a daily basis.

Needed two seats specifically to use for vacation, for flying and use in rental cars. Bought two of these. Our regular car seats would not have fit in the airplane seats and would have been WAY too heavy to lug through the airports. We shopped extensively and found very, very few seats that would have even fit in the airplane seats. These were perfect. Light weight, economical, and we found very easy to use. Installed easily and quickly in a rental Chevy HHR and a rental Jeep Liberty (two "small" SUV's). They also stacked together neatly for handling through airport (couple of bungee straps held together).

I did as much research as I could before purchasing two of these car seats for my grandson (one for my car and one for my daughter). This car seat always seemed to rank pretty well, and the price was affordable, so I bought it.

My first impression of the car seat came when I lifted the box - it was so light! After weeks of hauling my steadily-growing big-for-his-age grandson in his infant seat, it was so nice to lift something that didn't feel like a cement brick. The straps were very easy to adjust for his comfort, and the bottom liner is going to be great for those oops.

The seat is truly very easy to adjust, compared to others I looked at. And my grandson is very comfortable in it. It was a wonderful purchase for us, in every respect.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great price, Great product!, February 9, 2007
This review is from: Evenflo Tribute 5 Convertible Car Seat Fleetwood (Baby Product)
First of all, kudos to Amazon for having the carseat to my house in 2 days (with the Super Saver shipping, I might add). Secondly, I spent days, DAYS, looking for a new infant-toddler convertible seat. I have an 05 Trailblazer and was desparately looking for a narrow seat I could fit between 2 Graco TurboBooster seats. It's still a tight fit but it works. This was the narrowest seat I could find on the internet. The baby body pad definitely is a must since there is very little padding in the seat cover. It will work for a little while, but during the summer I'm sure the baby will not stand for that much cushion around her legs, as it will make her hot. I'll have to figure something else out at that point. The seat looks better than I expected and is about an inch less wide than the Titan. The Titan definitely doesn't work in between the two boosters. I can't see any use for the pillow, other than for looks. I'm very happy with my entire purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Husband Had No Trouble Installing, January 6, 2007
This review is from: Evenflo Tribute 5 Convertible Car Seat Fleetwood (Baby Product)
This seat seemed to go in smoothly because I had no complaint from my husband about the process of installing, and snapping my son in was a breeze for myself as well as for my husband. Grandma has the same seat and it's served her very well also.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Second/Travel Carseat, April 6, 2008

We needed a light, small car seat for airline travel. Most airlines state that carseats shouldn't be more than 16 inches wide in order to fit in the seat. We own two Britax carseats (which we love) and they are much wider than 16 inches. We decided to buy a less expense, smaller carseat for travel purposes. This seat worked out perfectly. It fit nicely in the airplane seat. And it is very light to carry around the airport. It certainly has less padding than our Britax carseats but our baby didn't seem to mind. He fit in it fine and slept most of the flight. I would recommend this carseat to anyone who needs a second or travel carseat.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good, not great., January 2, 2008

We needed a narrow car seat so that we could put three car seats side by side for our 5 year old, 3 year old, and infant. This one is nice and slim. It seems to have good cushioning. It has a pad that is supposed to function as a "spill guard" that the child sits on. However, this spill guard doesn't snap or velcro down - it basically floats free.

The strap for the bottom buckle doesn't adjust. There is only one slot for it, unlike on other car seats. This means that as your child grows you won't be able to adjust the strap (although the shoulder straps do have several different heights).

I toyed with the idea of buying a more expensive car seat (as a good mom should, right?) but figured there would be little difference. This car seat is just fine. Easy to install, perfectly comfortable for the baby (she always falls asleep in it). I only wish the trim wasn't black, it gets a little hot.

2.0 out of 5 stars Car Seat Not User Friendly, May 22, 2007

I am disappointed with this car seat. I used it during my 35-lb grandson's five-day visit last week. I found:

* The crotch strap too short. It is only 5 inches (total from the seat pan to the upper tip of the release buckle) and there is no adjustment. It requires effort to reach between the child's thighs to insert the buckle tongues into the buckle. Because it is so short, it also causes discomfort to the crotch of my grandson. The owner's manual shows the buckle rides higher near the stomach area which would have been more comfortable.

* The extra seat cushion is ineffective. It is not attached to anything. The weight of the child keeps the bottom down but the side flaps tend to get tangled with the seat harness. I end up not using it.

I bought this car seat based on other users' reviews. My experience keeps me from recommending this to others.

This is an excellent carseat for an equally great price. We bought two of these to use in our nanny's car for our 9-month old twins. The seats don't have a ton of padding but still look very comfortable and are easy to install and use. Very happy with this purchase!
