Crash-tested,
By
This review is from: Evenflo Triumph Advance DLX Convertible Car Seat, Reese (Baby Product)
We are on our second Evenflo Triumph. The first was replaced after an off-center head-on high speed crash and roll over. The car came to rest on its side and the seat stayed in place perfectly. My son's only injury was a bite on his tongue. I found it easy to install correctly in the Infinity i30 (equiv to a Toyota Corolla) and also in my Honda Accord. I enjoy the knob that adjusts straps which allows you to accomodate heavier clothing easily. I've also taken the cover off and washed it several times and the fabric held up well with no shrinkage. The 4 stars rather than five is as one reviewer said, the crotch strap seems too short, but I'm sure it's to keep the buckle in the bony pelvic region rather than the soft and vulnerable abdominal. It's hard to fault Evenflo for that but it's caused a pinched leg or two. I'd purchase a third if I needed too.

My husband and I love this carseat. We have a 7 1/2 month old daughter and it's so much more comfortable for her than her carrier carseat. It fits well into the backseat of our Honda Accord, and she sits a lot higher so she can see out her window. The price was great, the color is great, the safety/comfort of the seat is great, and it also has a higher weight limit than a lot of convertible carseats- 50 lbs! An all-around fabulous carseat. I would recommend this to anyone!

As good or better than Britax,

I have 6 different types of carseats including Britax carseats, and this is the best seat out of all. My daughter is always comfortable (her head is never hanging forward / her neck doesn't appear to be unfortable). The seat is very cushy. This is huge because all of the other seats except the Britax seats I have are uncomfortable for sleeping. The seat straps are easily adjustable for your growing child.
Overall, because the price is so awesome and it is super comfortable, this seat deserves an A+.

Great Seat for Baby and Beyond!,

We have this seat in the Lincoln color - dark grey and black - because it was available at our local BrU. So far, we love it. We brought our daughter home from the hospital in it, with her weighing just over 6 lbs. The infant head support did a sufficiently good job of supporting her neck until she was able to develop muscles on her own. This is definitely a much more advanced seat than the one I used 10 years ago for my son, the Graco Alpha Omega which was rated #1 by Consumer Reports at the time. Plan on taking some time to read the owner's manual and going through the pages with the seat in front of you. While you *could* just clip the seat into your car/truck/suv without possible problems, there are many tips and suggestions in the manual that made the process easier. Without the manual, I would have been cursing and tempted to take the seat back.
Adjusting the seat to a tiny baby facing backwards was not difficult but did take a few steps. This is not a negative in my opinion. It reassured me that everything was where it needed to be and that the fit was right, rather than a preset that you may or may not be able to make slight adjustments to. The only complaint I have about this seat is that the lever to loosen the belts is VERY tight. I have to brace myself with my knee on the seat, lift up the seat with one hand to release the pressure and then push down hard on the lever with the other hand. Again, this is not entirely bad as it is reassuring that the belts will not slip but the mechanism could be a bit easier. So far, we have only used this seat in the infant, rear-facing position. We are very confident that it will protect our daughter should it need to do it's job. It is heavy. It is not a seat that you want to buy for daily swaps between vehicles. I do not know if it fits in the flex-use stroller bases because we just skipped the infant seat altogether and this seat has an attached, flat-bottom base. I do like that there is a level that is easily seen from both sides of the seat. We have already taken off the seat cover once to wash it when we sprung a leak. It was not difficult at all to remove the seat cover and then to put everything back together. I was very impressed with how intuitive it was to "reassemble" the seat. We would definitely buy this seat again, especially since Consumer Reports listed it again on their top convertible list. Edit: We are still using this same seat for our DD who is now over one. We still have not turned the seat to face forward as there is plenty of room for her legs in the backwards-facing position. We have removed the infant head support are just using the seat with the basic cover. Other than the stiffness of the adjustment lever for the straps, we love this seat and still recommend it to anyone that asks. Now, this seat is not one to switch between vehicles as it is heavy, but that has not been an issue for us. This seat is still a top-ranked seat by Consumer Reports.

I had planned on getting the Britax Roundabout, but saw that this seat was ranked just as high by Consumer Reports, but for $100 less.
We love this seat. It was a breeze to install. It adjusts so easily that it makes putting the baby in the car seat a simple task instead of a chore. It seems comfortable and cushiony. My 20-lb. six-month-old loves riding it it. I have no complaints at all. It is large; but we installed it in a captain's seat in our mini-van, so size wasn't an issue for us. If you have a small car, size may be an issue. I'd definitely recommend it. The price seems to vary on Amazon, so if you're looking for a deal, watch the price for a while. We got it for $129.99 when we bought it in February '09.

The only problem I have with this carseat is that it is too tall and bulky for my Honda Civic. I purchased a similar deluxe product from Evenflo a couple of years ago and it was perfect for my car. With this one, whenever I need to take the carseat out and put it back in, it could take me up to an hour to get it tightened up just right. My Honda is an older model and just isn't suitable for many of the latest carseats. Otherwise, it is a good carseat.

Good value for the money. This is the only car seat I've owned, so I have nothing to compare it to - but no complaints from the little guy. We bought this as our son grew out of the infant seat (travel system). At 19 lbs., this chair is installed rear facing in our Toyota Camry and another in a Honda Odyssey. The chair is bigger than I thought and am looking forward to use forward facing. It was a bit challenging to install in the Camry. The only way to make easier is to remove the front seat!? All things considered, I would certainly buy again.

I purchased this seat for my growing grandson. I did my research. This is a great car seat and he loves it. Easy to adjust the harness from either side and easy to get him in and out of the seat. The seat is nicely padded and Nick is comfortable.
I highly recommend this seat.

Good Carseat,

I like this carseat. It installs easily, and is quite comfortable although this seat is quite large. I also have an evenflo triumph DLX that I LOVE, and wanted a larger seat to be able to use with five point harness until my daughter is at least four. The only part I don't like as much with the Triumph advance DLX is the harness attachments, the clip is difficult and the crotch strap is not the same circular style, and tends to cut in a little on legs. Other than that, I like this seat.

We absolutely LOVE this carseat!! This actually is our second one. We have another for my car and replaced the cheapie Cosco Scenera in my husbands car for this because he is now driving with him more and because the weight limit is so much higher on this than most other convertible seats. Like others have said, this carseat is quite large (wide) but we only have one child so this isn't a factor for us. Initially I got the first seat because of the awesome feedbacks and ratings that were equal to the costly Britax. We do have problems with the straps twisting every once in a while but it's an quick and easy fix. My son loves his seat so much that before we put this new one in the car it sat in our living room and served as his 'easy chair' for a few days because he didn't want to part with it!
