Must have for Families with Pets or Siblings,
By Jacqui Warner "Jacqui Warner" (Oregon) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Whisper Connect Sensa Monitor (Baby Product)
I was pretty doubtful about the Pet Detection since I am extremely careful not to let the dog upstaires where the nursery is, but I was surprised at what else it "detects"! I have a 4 yr old who is very curious about his new baby sister and often wants to play with her even though I try to explain that babies can't play. It's cute because sometime he just stares at her in awe but I get worried that he might sneak into the baby's room and try to "play" with her when I'm not watching. Since I got this monitor, twice the pet detection alarm and light went off. I ran to the nursery and saw my son climbing onto the crib wanting to get a better peek at his sister! It was innocent enough but who knows what could have happened if he tried to pick her up or hurt her unintentionally. This Pet Detection alone was worth the money but it's got other handy and easy to use functions too. It reminds me of my regular phone because of the rechargeable batteries and parent unit finder (push a button and the parent unit beeps until you find it). It has other functions too like lights that flash to tell you if the baby is crying and low battery indicator, although I haven't had to use it since I leave it plugged in most of the time. If you are a worry wart about pets and siblings and want total peace of mind, then this monitor is for you.

You have got to try this new monitor!,

This review is from: Whisper Connect Sensa Monitor (Baby Product)
I've nver heard of a Pet Detection monitor so since I have a cat I was curious enough to try this. Here's how it works: Its got this lens that sends out some kind signal that covers an area that's about 4 ft wide, 8ft deep, and 2 ft high - just perfect for a baby's bed or crib. Then if anything (pet or a sibling, or even an intruder!) comes into that area, it sets off an alarm on the parent unit so you know to check on the baby! You just have to sit the baby's unit on a dresser or something that is higher than the crib so it doesn't go off if the baby is just shifting around. It works because once the alarm went off and I caught my cat crawling along the side of the crib. You can turn off this function if you don't want it on since I only use it at night. The other part I like best is the rechargeable batteries it comes with - it works just like plugging in your cell phone. It's also has out of range alarm, low battery indicator, and it's 900Mhz so it's totally clear and has great range. This is a must not for just pet owners but also anyone who has younger children that can get into baby's crib.

A Feature that You'll Actually Use,
By Mary E. "Mary" (Coconut Grove) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Whisper Connect Sensa Monitor (Baby Product)
I got this Evenflo monitor as a gift and thought about returning it, but I'm so glad I didn't! This "eye" on the transmitter (the one you put near the baby) picks up any movements that happen within a particular area and it sets off an alarm & the light starts flashing on the receiver (the one the adult keeps near them) so you know to check on the baby. This feature alone is better than the Sony (trust me their monitor is not as good as their electronics) or the First Years 2.4ghz monitors (this 900MHz is crystal clear) that really have no other useful features but cost just as much or more. Even if you don't have a pet like I do, this monitor is worth a try.

Beeping Madness,
This review is from: Whisper Connect Sensa Monitor (Baby Product)
After less than two months the monitor started beeping randomly for no apparent reason. We called the company and they sent us a new one. It doesn't work well either. The monitor beeped 4 times last night waking us up more than the baby. No more headaches for us. It's going back to the store and we're getting a different make and model tonight.
Don't waste your time on this monitor, the product is obviously flawed based on all the consistent reviews. Btw, as I write this review the monitor has beeped 3 times already.

works well when not alarming,
By Sally M "i love pizza" (atlanta, ga) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Whisper Connect Sensa Monitor (Baby Product)
The range is huge, the clarity is perfect (can hear baby breathe), but the alarm (out of range, time to recharge?) that randomly goes off (especially at night!) is unacceptable. Only buy this monitor if you want to be woken up more often than you already are by the baby. I'm going back for the Sony today...

Comfort for the first-time mother!,
By LittleVTwinMama (Japan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Whisper Connect Sensa Monitor (Baby Product)
I have had no problems with this monitor, despite a houseful of a myriad of electronics and cordless devices. I've taken it outside for brief periods without problems. I have never used another baby monitor, but I seem to always be impressed with the sound quality; it seems to pick up every little whimper and sigh. It has provided me with a sense of comfort, which this first-time mother appreciates greatly!

Not worth the money,
By
This review is from: Whisper Connect Sensa Monitor (Baby Product)
this is a very expensive monitor and it is not worth the cost. It has given us trouble from the beginning. It makes the parent finder alarm sound randomly and usually at night when we are trying to get some sleep. The pet detection goes off at any time so we don't even use it. I called Evenflo and asked for a replacement and the one they sent to us had even more problems. They ended up just letting me keep both so I guess they know that the problems cannot be fixed.

not a good buy!,

Yes, the reception was great for us and we have a 2200 sqft house...problem: the ANNOYING pet-detection alarm went off for no reason, and we had that feature turned off! It almost always happened in the middle of the night too, like I've read in other reviews. That's enough to freak you out in the wee hours, forget about a peaceful night's sleep. We took this monitor back tonight and will try the Sony 9 station.

Pet detection works....however annyoing alarm clock sound,
By DC (NC) - See all my reviews

This monitor seems to work great, except for the annoying alarm clock sound that occurs at random times of the day and night. I did contact evenflo and they offered to send me a new monitor. This is the only model with pet detection, so they are going to send the same model, but if the same issue occurs, they will replace the unit with a different model. At least they are owning up to the problem and trying to do something to replace it. Other than the random alarm, this unit works great.
