Dreams of the Countryside,
By A Customer
This review is from: Evening at the Grange (Audio CD)
Husik's distinctive la-la somnolence is in rare form on this EP, and drifts in a beautifully aimless meander over seemingly familiar territory - the world of our rural grandparents. The music combines organic and synthetic sounds, sometimes awkwardly, mostly seamlessly. There's yet another version (my favorite) of "Star," called "Starburst 7." Music for a pill party.

A good EP, but not representative of their best work.,

This EP basically combines a track from Beaumont Hannant's Sculptured with a track from Husikeque's Green Blue Fire, along with 3 new tracks. The best song on the CD, is defenitely Starburst 7 which orginates on the Green Blue Fire CD, a much better album. Textured is the track from Sculptured, which before that even was a non-vocal track on Texturology by Beaumont Hannant, the vocals do not match the song as well as they could. Promenade is a very good track on the CD, and probably would be the only reason to buy it other than starburst 7, especially if already have some other CDs that Lida Husik and Beaumont Hannant have worked with on together.
