First of all I have to point out, that this DVD is not region 1 coded!
Expected for a very long time - a video recording of a Harry Belafonte concert. For anybody who likes Harry Belafonte this DVD is a must. It contains fourteen new and nostalgic songs in a new arrangement in a high quality performance.
In addition with an outstanding image quality (although a little bit noisy) this program is a real entertainment. Even the sound is better than I have stated during some live performances.

Unfortunately this DVD was not issued in 16:9 format, although part of the cover let us think that.

The consumate performer comes through with outstanding musicians and an updated sound. Some terrific new songs and old favorites. Even my kids enjoy this tape, watching all of the incredible musicians like Richard Bona and dancing along with the upbeat classics like "Matilda" and "Kwela (Listen to the Man)." I saw Harry Belafonte perform last night and he can still belt them out at age 74! Trust me, this is a quality production.

This show is a mix of the best of everything: African rhythm, Carribean feel, and beautiful ballads. Unbelievable how Harry, not the youngest, can set a show on stage with such energy and excitement many youngster better be jealous of...
A special compliment to the performance of Richard Bona, who demonstrates his ability to make a big room seem incredibly small by his exciting Cameroun songs. Even if you don't understand the lyrics - and like the most, I don't understand the words - the emotional message is so strong it makes the hair in my neck stand out.... DVD to have, and play over and over again....

I first saw the video at one of my favorite Carribean restaurants. It was playing for the patrons as we munched on our fish orders. I instantly fell in love with it and when I found out the particulars, I ordered it from Amazon.com. It was very easy to order. It got here when they told me it would and I have really enjoyed it. The quality of the DVD is first rate. The programing of the show was outstanding and I have played it over and over again. I am very pleased with Amazon.com for having the DVD in stock, getting it out to me quickly and without incident. Harry Belefonte is exceptional in the video and the selection of songs will have you humming them for weeks. My favorite is Matilda. You will not be disappointed if you order this video.

I love Harry Belafonte, but when I decided to buy a DVD of him in concert, I was disappointed to discover I couldn't find one from a few decades ago. I wasn't sure I'd enjoy him in concert as an older man and singing a lot of songs I didn't recognize.

But I needn't have worried. I loved his show so much, I watched it two nights in a row. The songs are sung from the heart, with passion and with his awesome voice. He has amazing back up in both the musicians and the 4 singers on stage with him. There were enough of the familiar songs to satisfy me.

It seems like everything had expert attention; the choice of songs, the lights, the set, the arrangements, the costumes, etc. Fabulous!

Great viewing for a family or friend night. Get's everyone dancing in their seats!

The only dvd of a Harry Belafonte (and friends) concert made for PBS. Great concert all of my favorite songs and more.

I was lucky enough to see Belafonte live at least a dozen times and I think he was one of the greatest performers I've ever seen. He really knows how to put on a show and has a great voice. He also has such great people backing him up that the show is fantastic top to bottom. This DVD is first rate and even though Harry is starting to show his age he nails it. If you count yourself a fan you need to have this in your collection.

I'm a big fan of Harry Belafonte and the disappintment was great, when I saw the concert.
