5.0 out of 5 stars A WONDERFUL TIME WITH A BROADWAY LEGEND, February 17, 2000
By
Michael Dugger (Richmond,Virginia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: An Evening With Jerry Herman, Lee Roy Reams and Karen Morrow (Audio CD)
RAINBOW & STARS;AN EVENING WITH JERRY HERMAN is a wonderful musical recording which allows fans of the broadway musical to spend an hour or so with one of Broadway's greatest composers Jerry Herman and two of his close, very talented collegues Karen Morrow and Lee Roy Reams. This is basically a musical autobiography, therefore Mr. Herman does get a chance to give brief background narration about some of the songs that are performed.Doing this,I feel, makes the listener feel like he or she is actually at The Rainbow Room. Broadway fans this recording is a must!

4.0 out of 5 stars Karen Morrow is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, June 16, 2002
This review is from: An Evening With Jerry Herman, Lee Roy Reams and Karen Morrow (Audio CD)
Let me start by saying that I am a Karen Morrow fan and therefore may be a little biased. I think that Ms. Morrow has one of the most wonderful "belt" voices this century. However, most of the women songs that she would be wonderful singing (like "Dolly") are performed by Lee Roy Reems. (I am sorry but I think that he is a self-obsessed queen.) If you like Jerry Herman, Karen Morrow, or are a Reems fan (since he does sing most of the music on this disc) buy it!

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money (not Taste of Honey), July 22, 1999
This review is from: An Evening With Jerry Herman, Lee Roy Reams and Karen Morrow (Audio CD)
If you like listening to Jerry Herman chatting inanely and enjoy applause that lasts longer than the numbers this item is for you. Almost enough to put you off him!
