About the Author
Joyce Grenfell was the quintessential English comedienne. For three decades she was a major force in the world of entertainment. Her passport said 'Write/ Entertainer' and that said it all. Through her journalism, television and her career in the cinema, including the St. Trinians films, she was always an immensely popular figure with the British public. In the latter part of her career she also enjoyed great popularity with her radio programme 'My Music'. Her fans in recent years included Victoria Wood and Maureen Lipman, the latter mounting a successful stage tribute called 'Re-Joyce'. The show highlighted her repertoire of famous monologues, many of which are included here in this delightful recording in front of a very appreciative live audience.
