5.0 out of 5 stars Anyone know if there is sheet music to the Opening Credits?
Does anyone know where to get sheet music for Jan A.P. Kaczmarek's opening credits song and the Evening song on this album? Thanks!

I am sorry to only give this soundtrack 3 stars. Kaczmarek's score is lovely. However, the omission of Clare Danes vocal numbers is more than a disappointment, it's a reason not to purchase this soundtrack.

4.0 out of 5 stars Probably Better Than the Movie!, August 28, 2011
This review is from: Evening [Music From and Inspired By the Motion Picture] (Audio CD)
I like the soundtrack and never saw the film. The film starred a first rate cast like Claire Danes, Toni Collette, Vanessa Redgrave CBE, Patrick Wilson, Hugh Dancy, Natasha Richardson, Mamie Gummer, Dame Eileen Atkins CBE, Meryl Streep and Glenn Close.

While I remember the terrible trailers that preceded this feminine bonding film, I had no desire to see it. But I did pick up the soundtrack at a thrift store and I liked the music--it is a compilation with moving opening titles track and evening track like opening and closing credits of the film.

I liked the original score of this film but I did enjoy Peggy Lee's songs along with Sarah Vaughan, Anita O'Day, Michael Buble, and Steve Ash in the collection. While I don't care to see the film, I did like the soundtrack. If Clare Danes had sung in the movie, it should have been included in this soundtrack but it's not unfortunately.

3.0 out of 5 stars lovely soundtrack...but, August 25, 2008
This review is from: Evening [Music From and Inspired By the Motion Picture] (Audio CD)
this is a beautiful soundtrack. However, if you're buying it to hear the version of Claire Danes singing...think again. It's not on the CD!

4.0 out of 5 stars almost, January 15, 2008

This is a movie that made me want to try to remember the lessoms that the characters learned. How liberating to realize that there are no mistakes in most lives. As long as you have a good life, a full one; don't look back with regrets or might have beens. Such a worthwhile and essential message. Claire Danes performed the most interesting rendition of 'Time after Time". It's lovely and haunting and unique. I would buy it in a heartbeat, but it's not available. Thoughtful, provocative and if you want something to talk about on your date, this could do it.

The soundtrack is as captivating as the film. I only wish they had included Claire Danes version of "Time After Time" as she performed it on screen.

4.0 out of 5 stars Redgrave Rules, July 25, 2007
This review is from: Evening [Music From and Inspired By the Motion Picture] (Audio CD)
V.Redgrave, as the dying Ann lord, adds substance and depth to a very beautiful, romantic memory. Clare Danes, as the young Ann Lord, inspired me to read the book, which fleshed out the movie with many more details and differences in characters and events than could be shown on the screen. The sound track so perfectly complemented the movie that it is one and the same:
hauntingly beautiful.

3.0 out of 5 stars Missing 'secret' tune, July 22, 2007
This review is from: Evening [Music From and Inspired By the Motion Picture] (Audio CD)
The trailer for this movie features the same music that features in 'The Secret'. Anyone know what it's called and whether or not if it's actually on this album? Listening to the samples I couldn't find it.

I love this quiet, lovely soundtrack. It is quite fitting for the movie which I enjoyed very much. What a fine movie. It is and its filled with a great cast. Claire Danes is beautiful and does a great job. I just wished they had her singing. She is not the best singer but it would have been better to have heard her singing rather than by those whose versions did not appear in the film.

Still, go see the movie. I will never forget it.
