I bought this album because it sounded interesting. I've ahd no past experiences with any of Pinhas' old material or even Heldon. but I bought this mostly because it sounded like Main. (get their Hertz album if you enjoy this one.)
While this disc does have some interesting moments on it, it all tends to blur together after a while and becomes wall-paper music. though, one interesting thing I found is that played at lowerlevels of volume, it makes for a rather interesting ambient album...

The previous reviewer obviously doesn't sufficient enjoy the genre he is writing about, although many might agree with him. For those of you who liked Fripp and Eno, say "No Pussyfooting," or "Evening Star," this album resembles those, but in my opinion transcends those, and this is just the tip of the Pinhas iceberg. This is one of the most extraordinary records since Terry Riley's "Rainbow in Curved Air," for anyone who really knows anything about it. It's easier listening and more accessible than later Pinhas/Merzbow records but can lift a person into the Elysian Fields for months at a time, substance free. This is extraordinary! Some of the later ones are genius.
