Book Description

May 1, 2000
Brenda Smith, 27, is a wife and mother of two. After several disturbing battles with her husband, she is allowed to take a job outside of their home. Once in the workplace, Brenda meets five women who seem to lead quiet, everyday, normal lives. As Brenda gets to know each of them intimately, she discovers that each of them possess a secret. Throughout this story, there is jealousy, conniving and tension. As the story comes full circle, the women triumph over all their struggles, putting their bitterness for one another aside and sit down for a straight-forward, gloves-off pow wow that enables them to reveal hurts, pain and losses. The result is a test of sisterhood in only a way that these women can control.

4.0 out of 5 stars Watch out Terry McMillan fans...., July 11, 2000
By
AJ (Dallas, Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Eventually We Talk (Paperback)
There is a new Diva in the literacy field and she is coming out the gates looking for a knockout punch with her first self published book titled 'Eventually We Talk.' Wan Wan expresses the growing concerns of women today facing the challenges of separating true friendships with their female peers as well the trying tribulations of deceit and pain when trust boundaries are broken. In her first book the story line takes you through the lives of various characters, allowing you to feel their pain and shed their tears when fiction and reality mesh together. The author has truly set herself up to be the next in line for the title of "Literacy Queen of the New Millenium"

I know this book is not new but I just got my hands on a copy. Wanda Canty really outdid herself with this book. It's a book about relationships and celebrates the female friendship bond and it does not bash men! And, she's a hometown Detroit girl. Way to go Canty!
