5.0 out of 5 stars All Over the Map
Big Umbrella's latest is not as listener-friendly as previous efforts. Lead singer/songwriter Russell Osiecki has moved away from the socio-political darkness of Guru, to embrace a more psychedelic posture. Songs like "Oil," if given a chance, will find allow the listener to find redemption in the musical risks taken.

1.0 out of 5 stars Contrived tripe
Just that... contrived tripe. Rusty's wailings typify what every 90s neighborhood 'artiste' accomplish... conveying just how truly unhappy they are, and how hell-bent they are on impressing this fact upon the bulk of listeners that really couldn't care less. Save your cash, kiddies... you'll find more inspiration in a Pat Boone recording. If you're after empty...

I bought Big Umbrella when I heard that this Band was a few very Old Friends...Russell and Derek Osieki and their awesome Drummer Eddie Cleland. These guys have been around under various names since the late seventies...you gotta support Friends! So of course I bought the CD's on Amazon. : ) Russell Osieki is a great song writer and now lives in Southern California, Derek is still located in Las Vegas and Eddie Cleland is still bangin it up in the L.A. Club Scene. You can find Derek on Facebook and Eddie on Facebook and MySpace these days. Talented People individually and as a Group.
