There are a confusing array of Pogo collections out there, all of some merit since they contain works of the most curious and wonderful comic strip of the postwar world. This one is particularly interesting, since it was assembled by Kelly himself, who picked from among his favorites of the first ten years of the strip, during which it arguably reached its peak. Chronological comics mix with the occasional bit of Kelly verse and comment for a fun time.

This is a must book for all Pogo fans. It contains everything from the take off on Kruschev to such wonderful poems as "Twinkle Twinkle Little Bat", "Deck the Halls" and "Here is the Hunter." I bought this book in 1961 and still howl when I read it today.
